Not seen Spectre yet, but watched The Martian last week. Thought it was good, the misses enjoyed it more than me and she only whent because I wanted to see it.

Went to spectre last night.
Overall I thought it was a very good film, maybe not quite as good as skyfall, but extremely enjoyable. It did play as a more classical bond but all the good stuff was there, great set pieces, awesome cars, stunts and girls and the theme tune fits perfectly with the film and on a IMAX screen enough said....

Saw spectre last night as well. For me, it's up there with Skyfall and Casino Royale. That said, I was pretty bored for the first 45 mins or so- it was just 'same old' again. A couple of things didn't really add up for me and it's starting to feel tired.
It totally picked up though and I thoroughly enjoyed it in the end. I hope they think carefully about where they go next with it all. Maybe they should go back to the past with a rookie Bond.

I saw it last night. Not sure what to make of it. It's definitely not a bad film, but I don't think I'll ever watch it again. A bit throw away, i guess. Not a patch on skyfall, it's too long and you're right it is starting to feel a bit samey.
Worth a watch, but if you're a casual bond fan like me you're not missing anything if you don't see it.

On further reflection, actually wasn't up there with Skyfall and Casino Royale. Better than Quantum of Solace though. Like you Weas, feeling a little indifferent towards it.
I'm amazed at some of the reviews it's had. Lots of 5 Star reviews from the likes of The Times, who are normally very harsh. Seems like everyone's jumped on the bandwagon. Also smashed the UK opening box office record.

Just seen Spectre thought it was the best one he's done, still not Bondie enough for me. Does make me want to watch the previous three again though. Next trip to the cinema will be for TFA.

Recently got John Wick and Mad Max Fury road - ****** brilliant, loved them both 
I watched San Andreas last night. Absolute dross. Do Americans still really like having token 18th century English accents in films? Have any of these directors ever even been to England? Nobody talks like that.
I quite enjoyed the action sequences but the story, acting etc is garbage.

Gonna watch Bond tomorrow. I must admit Quantom of Sollace was disappointing after Casino Royale but when I watched it again about a year later I really liked it. Give it another go lads, it was always gonna be tough going up against Casino but it's actually a good film.

I saw Spectre recently and was disappointed. It was better than Skyfall, but then Skyfall was a huge turd of a James Bond film (a decent film, just not a decent Bond film). There appeared to be an attempt to tie all the Daniel Craig Bond's into one complete final story, but I wasn't left satisfied as if that had been the plan since Casino Royale. Monica Belluci was underused, and I had a 'George Lucas Retrofit flashback' feeling about the entire film. Blofeld was a shoddy entry into bad guys at best. A lukewarm 4/10. Casino Royale was maybe so good, the rest were insignificant in comparison. Time to start again with something new. Or maybe, just maybe, its time to knock it on the head finally.

Watched a sci-fi horror flick called The Thaw the other night. If you're a fan of horror movies like me, it's got aspects of Alien and The Thing in it, so the movie was kinda cool, although the heavy "global warming warnings" were over the top. Stars Val Kilmer, surprised to see him still active.
Got the kids a copy of Hotel Transylvania 2 yesterday. Meh. The first one was barely watchable, and this one is hardly even that.

Yeah I thought that new Star Wars film was good, didn't matter that I've not seen any of the others either.
Been catching up on a few films on SKY to break up the multiple TFA views
Jobs (Ashton Kutcher); very good, if you're into computers and Apple. Well acted and directed, if its not you thing though I wouldn't bother.
American Sniper; OK, I was actually getting quite bored by the end, then it suddenly became an emotional masterpiece. If you watch it and get bored, stick with it to the end
Ex Machina; Fantastic in every way, beautifully made, amazing acting, brilliant thriller writing. One to watch!

Saw Ex Machina the other day, proper sci-if film, very good.
Rewatched Age of Ultron yesterday, saw it at the pictures originally but wasn't too impressed, second viewing much better, enjoyed it.
Got American Hustle for tonight, I'm way behind :lol:

Yep Ex Machina was ace. Two thirds of the way through I thought it was trying to be cleverer than it was, but that was just a very clever smoke-screen for the final act.
Was at Sister-in-law's at Christmas and they put Gravity on. They have an HD TV, but only a DVD player, so it already looked crap being in standard definition. Then I started questioning the science, which I checked online to confirm I was correct. Sandra & George's astronaut characters are held together by a rope, she grabs part of space station, and she has to let him drift away in order that both of them don't die. Well there's supposed to be no gravity in space, so he would have just needed a small tug from Sandra to pull him toward the station, instead, he drifts off. Scientifically inaccurate.
