Has anyone seen King of Kong? Great film about a guy trying to beat the official world record top score on Donkey Kong. Might sound **** but even my wife loved it, and she is a pain in the arse with films  It's like the movie Dodge Ball but real 8)

That's on my Netflix, was thinking of giving it a go so I will now!

Watched Lincon the other day, Daniel Day Lewis deserved that Oscar and I loved it but very wordy and maybe not everyone's cup of tea.

Just being too see "MaMa" very good film tbh, only made me jump once, but well put together, don't like films with kids in them especially when there upset and scared and it made me feel abit stressed and couldn't wait too get home and give my daughter a big hug :D funny how having kids I feel turns you into a better person.

Had a 'rom-com' sort of night last night:

Lay the favourite - no rom, even less com, total and utter shite....
The Knot - not really a rom-com, but very funny in places and not without charm, worth a watch.

Managed to watch a few last week, I'd recommend
Red Dawn and Zero Dark Thirty.

Should get round to watching the Hobbit this week.

I watched 'The Hobbit' and 'Cube' recently, thoroughly enjoyed them both.
Is the 'Red Dawn' remake any better than the original?

Yes it's a remake of the 1984 version, however i've never seen that one, so is it better ?!?!

I recently watched The Social Network, Source Code and The Adjustment Bureau after picking them up in a Blockbuster sale.

Really liked TSN, despite 'Zuckerberg' (I place in inverted commas as I'm not sure how fair and accurate a portrayal it was) being overwhelmingly annoying. Did Eisenberg watch Rain Man in preparation for the role?!

Source Code, I thought was very decent, but nowhere near the 91% Rotton Tomatoes score that encouraged me to buy it in the first place. It had some great ideas, was well-acted and well-paced, but didn't really stand out much, for me, and not really something I'd hurry to watch a second time.

As for The Adjustment Bureau, I was expecting an examination into free will and predestination but it never really went beyond scratching the surface of those concepts. The chemistry between Matt Damon and Emily Blunt (I think I'm in love with that woman) was excellent and I think they carried the film just enough to make it watchable. It holds the 'sci-fi' tag but really it's just a romance film with a religious current running through it that it is never quite prepared to admit. I read the Philip K D1ck short-story on which the film was based a few years ago but the film doesn't really resemble it enough, for me.

Now getting my teeth into my The Thick of It boxset; so far, so good!

Premium Rush - really wanted it to be great but turned to be just OK. The direction was a bit off and there really isn't much of a plot, mindless watch but expected more, especially for GJL, who must have the fastest rising star in Hollywood right now.

Watch Argo as well, and like everyone else here I must say it was great, highly recommend watch

Yeah, there were a couple of laugh out loud moments, quite sad in places too..................I didn't cry though :)

Watched Gambit last night.
Very enjoyable, very much a classic farse in the Blake Edwards style, nothing original though but good fun.
