In 1994 I picked up Steve Sansweets: From Concept to Screen to Collectable book. It wasn't so much the spark that lit the flame as it was the bomb that started the apocalypse. Flicking through the pages was the first time I had seen a lot of the last 17, VC Jawa, Blue Snaggletooth and a ton of amazing star wars collectables.

I was only a kid at the time and consider everything in that book a collecting goal, grail (yes plural) items. Obviously back then when there was no internet, no US contacts and a salary of £6 pocket money, it was difficult to imagine even getting to see these items let alone owning them.

One of these items arrived today. I have always been paranoid buying it, because it could so easily break in transit and that would be devestating. Im especially paranoid when the postman has to walk through ice and snow to get it to me. Well it arrived. So wizard :P

Nice Yak Jedi_june but I think the award for best fig pick up goes to Dublinjeff. Can't beat picking up a **** load of figs for **** all.

PS Jedi_june, I thought your avatar was you taking a hit from an R2-D2 shaped bong, but on closer inspection you're kissing a shoe - Whatever gets you high I suppose...

Hi Guys , well wonders will never cease!!!!!

As you all know i dont bother showing much in this thread but id thought id share these with you, apologies ref to quality of photos.

First up three minty mint figures from our resident whealer dealer Iain about two months ago!!
The C3P0 is a gem really stiff and lovely paintwork, luke raised china bar and hk chewie

NEXT UP!!! As a general rule , i do not collect the last 17 figs however there are four which are a must have IMPO.
A Minty white luke stormie, no paint loss and super stiff limbs(blue/black blaster ) will rectify that in the future
A Mint imperial Gunner the emblems are perfect! They will both go well with my minty yak man , all i need is a mint pop up R2 !!

And lastly a ESB 41 BACK KENNER JAWA!! I dont collect MOCS as a whole, but i love the ESB logo and the jawa is up there as one of my fav figs in the original 12. The card lies nice and flat and the bubble is in great nick. The tape that holds the weapon has aged and come away. two creases were tag is but generally a nice card.
Traded this for a yellowed snowspeeder/boxed c7 mini rig ,loose speederbike and 6 loose figs. so think i got a good deal there :D

not technically new but finally got these back from my parents loft. great to get these into my house. these were some of my toys from back in the day

You've kept those boxes in pretty good nick Doomseeker.

Couple on uncarded figures - the bubbles are loose and the Stormtooper one isn't the original bubble for the card but is a pretty good fit.

Yeah I'd say about 90% of my current collection dates back to when I was a kid, I was lucky that my parents kept the boxes, cardboard inserts and instructions.
Animal's awesome, he's the master replicas one, I also have Gonzo but couldn't justify the cost of getting Kermit :-(

Some sweet pick up's over the past few days, loving the farmboy Luke Crazyhazy.....too many others to list (getting very lazy)

Doomseeker: wow those are great pieces, boxes look good. Your lucky to have parents that save your stuff.
& is that a Ledy Falcon?

3rd Vote for animal lol

Theslider: nice pic ups. Loving the Palitoy card :)
