Mr Morgan... He's an odd one...
I went to a publisher do with him as one of a few guest authors about 6 years ago, there were a range of nice to meet people there, including at the time one chap I really wanted to meet; Dave Gorman. Turned out that the guy I wanted meet was a total bell end on the night, not funny in anyway (despite being a comedian and comedic author) and totally up himself about being centre of attention; beyond disappointing, but them the breaks...
Mr Morgan on the other hand was without doubt the nicest guy in the room and although I'm sure he would have easily had his drinks bought by the publisher, but he chose to spend his own money buying many rounds for me a mate as we spent the night talking not about books, but about football. He's a Gooner, I'm Spurs and the banter was good value. Now I'm not saying he is a wonderful human being, he supports Arsenal for a start, I also don't know him that well, but based on first hand 'hanging out with him for a night', he sure isn't satan either.
In other news, David Attenborough, not a nice guy at all in the flesh, that refused to meet most people and refused to sign unless at a book signing... no time to talk to people apparently...
I guess the media's portrayal of people (behind the stories (often bad stories I admit) that make them famous) is a good screen that we can all fall for, some of them obviously play up to it too, but its not always as cut and dry as we are all led to believe.
Katie Hopkins, never met her, no interest either
