Even then it's gonna be touch and go. We didn't get any post today, postman said last week it would probably be every other day or so over the fortnight! GREAT! :roll:
I guess if you email the sellers and tell them you have posted it and explain the reason for the delay there isn't much more you can do. Just hope none of them get arsey!

Had to pay 109 pounds custom on my last item from brianstoys as he wouldnt put it as 20 dollar gift like i asked for

everytime i buy from abroad now i ask for 20 dollar gift at my risk and usually it works out fine but with the hefty postal charges sending and getting items from abroad now it is no longer any fun at all

I see there will be another postal strike on friday, with all these customs fees they are making how on earth can they keep going on strike

what annoys me too is the fact when you pay priority shipping prices to get item faster, customs keep a hold of the item longer and sometimes send you a letter if cost is too much stating that it needs to be paid first, which then means you are waiting even longer for the thing wheres if you paid regular post it might have avoided cuatoms all together and you get it quicker

I don't mind custom charges - its the whack royal mail or parcel force put on them. Made even worse as royal mail don't actually deliver items with charges

Funny thing once a few years back when i worked for black and decker i had a game delivered there and when the postman came with it he said there was a charge of something like 25 quid and he was an asshole saying abouit us ppl buy these things cheap from abroad hoping to get a bargain and they dont think about the custom charges and told me a bout a guy who brought some cheap golf clubs from japan he had to deliver to and after the custom charges they were no longer as cheap and was saying how ppl should learn nothings free in thisa life... biggest jerk ever and he was a fkn ginger nut

The P.O get **** all, Parcel force charge you the fee for paying the charges on your behalf, normally about Ã'£8-12 quid. They seem to be the ones who are responsible for most parcels that originate outside the UK. Them or UPS.

The postal strike is the old genius idea Unions have when the management point out they are getting murdered by the competition (as the post office are) and the only way to compete is to become more efficient and/or cut some jobs. The Unions in this country take that their cue to go on strike!
After all if your inefficent and over staffed, it's obvious that a strike is the best way to keep your customers happy!
And then they wonder WHY the P.O lost 40% of its customers last year!
This time the Unions also seem to think that becuase they did so well last year they should be due a pay INCREASE as well!

Sometimes I wonder if you actually have to be a retard to run a Union in this country, or just be completely ignorant to basic economics!?

Parcel force can charge up to Ã'£14
And royal Mail do charge Got a parcel a few weeks back but the delivery man didn't realise there was a charge on it when he picked it up at the depot - so he let me off (I didn't call him bad names that day) Charge of about Ã'£4 for customs and another Ã'£8 for RM

I feel bad for you, but I can't really relate. Fortunately, I live in the US and I don't have to go through customs. I hate customs though, every time I go to Canada I have to watch what I buy and the fact that I'm of Indian (South Asian) heritage doesn't help either.

Yeah. The sad thing, is that people can't tell the obvious difference (well, obvious to me) between Arabic and Hindi. And also, you're right. Sadly enough, Punjabi people are all treated the same way as Muslims just because they wear turbans.

To get back on topic, customs suck.

yep - you buy something, postage which you would think means the item gets to your door. If PO have to pay a customs - you have to go collect and pay. Which defeats the purpose of paying postage
