Been to a boot fair by chance this morning and saw some vintage Star Wars (see next post)

Thought it'd be good to have a thread for the summer for people's purchases Star Wars or not, plus any details of Star Wars items you saw.

So I had to do a couple of hours work his morning and on way home passed a huge boot fair, so with time to spare I thought I'd stop and take a look on the off chance.

Low and behold I have seen some Star Wars items, however the people selling them have the same mentality as those online as because it was Star Wars must be worth a fortune.

Third stall I walked past had a loose AT-AT in pretty beat up condition, one leg was truly yellowed whilst others were normal, no chin guns or side guns, no canopy on cockpit, battery cover was removed and the side panel was missing also, so like i said in a pretty sorry state. So I thought if it was reasonable I'll get it for my lad, asked how much, the seller responds £60, I couldn't believe it, I pointed out to him what was missing, his response was "it's extremely rare pal, I could sell it for double that online". I walked on by, couldn't believe his price but thought how great it was to see a vintage item.

Next aisle there was a bloke with a huge glass display selling Star Wars beaters for £6 each, and when I say beaters I mean beaters, he had a Luke Jedi with no face in there, bit pricey but again good to see, what did make me laugh was in amongst these beaters he had a Lando skiff figure wearing Hans trench coat which he had up for £20.

Another lady had a bag of what she called Star Wars for a fiver, contained three figures, a faded beater Teebo with no accessories, a tusken raider bend em and a rubber figure of the sloth out of ice age.

But the best stall was the dodgiest bloke I've ever seen, he had modern Star Trek figures carded on his table which were sun bleached for £50. Only Star Wars item he had was an episode one dress up queen amidala costume, no interest for me but thought I'd ask the price as he was so expensive, now this was the best, told me it was £100, i stood there just gob smacked and didn't say a word, he followed it up thirty seconds later with, I'll do it for £80 though mate. I wouldn't give him a fiver for it, unbelievable.

I did pick up the return of the Jedi Ralph mcquarrie portfolio collection though, all the prints are in there, paid £8 for it, and looked through them and they are nice, box is a little best up round the edges though.

Unbelievable prices but so good to see Star Wars back round boot fairs.

Great idea for a thread, will be interesting to see what people can dig up... :D
Shame about the prices though...still, nice find with the ROTJ Portfolio, £8 8)

I go pretty much every weekend in the summer, very occasionally I see the odd bit of vintage, usually very poor condition. Almost always more expensive than ebay. Sometimes manage to pick up the odd stormtrooper. That said I did get a loose rebel transport this weekend for £7, nearly complete in quite good condition.

My local ones start on Sunday. Cant wait!

Should have started on Sunday just goe but it was waterlogged.

Did go to Lincoln Antiques and home show though on Monday

Extremely slim pickings, No vintage. Except for a few Chess Sets and Trival Pursuit there was a 2010 Saga Endor loose ATAT incomplete for £60.

Did get two large boxes of warhammer for £20 though. The seller thought they were toy soliders

found a 1974 playmobil figure it its original box in a box of tat! its missing most of its accesories! someone taped it up with insulation tape which i have now removed but it took off the box art underneath! shame :( anyways looks better without the horrible black tape now anyway :) 50p for a 1974 toy which still had its box bargain. gonna complete figure with missing bits from ebay me thinks. 8)

Good stack of finds last Sunday:

Force-FX sabre fully working lights and sounds
Niko with Staff
Stormie (10 a day habit)
Prune Face with no paint wear
Ugnaught looser than a death star droid's slutty aunt... hardly able to stand!
Weequay also with weapon
Corgi Buck Rodgers ship (wings work fine, no rockets though)
A Matchbox Battle Kings tank with 2 of 4 rockets!!)
R2 is from McDonalds, but actually a nice sculpt and can sit on the R2 shelf.

Paid £14 in total for all the items!!!
So, there are bargains out there; the sabre was only 50p and they're still in shops today at £25-30, don't think its been played with!
It clearly pays to take a 14 year old boy (that looks 11-12) to a boot fair when buying toys; I recommend you take one (with permission of its parents of course!)

Bloody hell I remember having two of them green trucks as a kid they fire little rockets now that has reminded me of my childhood :)

Not so much volume today.. one thing only, but its a nice item to find at a boot fair 8)
Now to find the other 7!

Keep hunting :D

East Lancs Carboot sale had a tray of bad beaters for £2 each, but non worth even that.

The big suprise was a stall full of mocs.....

......with repro backs and bubbles. Chap said the Imperial Gunner moc was worth £60. :?

Nice find savoury, love those cups, got a couple myself

Popped along to a boot fair at weekend for a short while nothing about except the same bloke I mentioned in my initial post on here, good to see that he's reduced the Lando in Han Trenchcoat to a tenner but still asking £6 for the beaters, the Madine and Luke Jedi are two of the worst beaters I've ever seen, reckon he'll have them all summer!

some great pieces on here - the playmobil was a steal

I used to have the green Matchbox Adventure 2000 truck - they were a great set of vehicles and came with little silvery spacemen
