The first two episodes are fantastic.

Blew me away.

As to the discussion of whether the the villains are Sith or not I'm going to say not as this is Dave Filoni's story and I believe he will be true to the mythology that the Sith died with Vader and Palpatine. Even the Inquisitors of REBELS are not Sith.

I don't believe there is a rule that Sith or Dark Jedi have to have red lightsabres. As I understand it, Palpatine and predecessors simply didn't have access to real crystals and somehow manufactured their own. If any of the Inquisitors had been of the age in the Jedi Order to have a lightsaber then most likely Palpatine wouldn't have wanted them using it. Same for Dooku.

My guess with Ray Stevenson's character was that at some point after Order 66 he lost his original lightsaber, but since Lo-Huang (??) recognised the hilt it means that the character switched the crystal deliberately.

I really liked the 2 first episodes. But I miss that we did not saw Thrawn  I also think it was strange that we did not see Sabine in a bacta tank and even more strange that the sith did not split her in 2 parts

In the coming episodes or maybe next season, then I am thinking what will disney do with Baylan Skoll if he do not die in the series, since sadly Ray Stevenson who play him passed away all to young

Also a little strange to see a new sith master and an apprentice from the empire. What were they before the fall of the empire. Since there is always only place for one master palpatine and one apprentice vader
I think Filoni simply skipped showing us the bacta tank - he knows fans know she would have been put in one and newcomers won't know so nothing is missed. Saves a bit of money to use on something else too.

Or maybe Sabine didn't need bacta. This I think is the first time we have seen anyone survive that kind of injury from a lightsabre and I think we will find out that Shin deliberately did not fatally wound Sabine. She may feel the same as Baylin not want to kill Jedi when there is another way. Also she always has a look of fascination in her eyes about everything - she had that look for both Sabine and Ahsoka. I think maybe she wants to see how they react to things ans learn about them.

I enjoyed both episodes, although I haven't watched the animated series 😉
My youngest has, and the oldest is tempted to as a few of his friends have at 23, so he's not to old.
Only thing that I didn't like was Sabine recovering from the lightsaber stab, as mentioned above. It makes Qui -gon's death lame.
Bring on episode 3.
I don't think Sabine was stabbed in the same place.

From the ads on Facebook, I don't think they are sith, hence an orange sabre and not red...
Dark jedi is the wording, but we shall see, as the episodes progress. I expect she will turn on her master in the end.
Filoni has a history of both killing off characters AND having them survive no matter what (:P)

I think Shin will survive and shows us that there is a potential for her to switch sides. I don't think though that she will turn on Baylin. I have a few guesses on how it will go but would rather say this early on the very very slim chance one of them is close. :)

Baylin is a great character and I am looking forward to learning more. He hasn't shown anger or hatred towards anyone - he and Shin killed who they had to on the Republic cruiser and no one else. And he genuinely regrets the idea of killing a Jedi.

Don't think we have had a villain like that before and I am very glad that Stevenson got to be the actor playing him. I never understood why he wasn't a bigger deal in the industry after his breakthrough in ROME.

Have Disney ever said if he was due to be in a season 2, or his contract had ended after series 1, before his sudden death?
As I've never read they rewrote an ending.

The show is a mini series ( or limited series as they say nowadays) like KENOBI is.

Up until a couple of weeks ago when I saw "limited" somewhere online I had been assuming it was intended as an ongoing series.

I don't doubt if it does well we will get more in the future but the suits already shelved RANGERS and the big crossover event series (which at least is going to be a movie) so I think it will be several years before another season.

Oh so it is a mini series. I had hoped for more. That we see Thrawn, how he build his new army and the war begins against the new republic. That could have been a series of many seasons :)

Really enjoyed the third episode. The space chase was very reminiscent of when the Falcon 'escapes' from the Death Star in Star Wars, which was obviously deliberate, along with Sabine's blind training. The production value and score are phenomenal- it looks and sounds like a movie. Loved the WW2-fighter plane style ships and the return of the purrgils. Interesting hyperspace ring as well! Thoroughly enjoying it- looking forward to next week now.

Looks like he was stabbed in the belly

I'm open to correction but screen grabs on Google seem to show the lightsaber blade higher and to the left (from Shin's point of view) I. Sabine.

I googled the death of Qui-Gon. I had always thought that Maul impales him through the stomach but apparently there are differing opinions on that.

Some people believe the stabbing was higher and that the damaged the heart, or the arteries (since the lightsaber cauterises the wounds it makes it would mean blood flow to Qui-Gon's heart stopped (which means death) and that the blade also went through his spine.

Some also include lung damage but that would have affected communication and he is able to talk just fine.

Heart or stomach though, that screen grab definitely shows the blade going through the spine.

I think Sabine was definitely stabbed in a different place.

I have no doubt though that one of Filoni's intention with Sabine getting stabbed like that was to cause exactly this kind of chatter. He is very mischievous when it comes to fans.

I liked a lot that they built 2-1B from the waist down (or so it seemed to me) from the Kenner first iteration of the toy character. I am not interested in watching Rebels, but I am enjoying the show nevertheless. I agree that the only questionable script corner so far is the lighstabre stab which just itched a bit. Those script actions dumb down the future stakes for all the characters.

I think the 3rd episode was also great but a little short.

I read that there will be 8 episodes. That is not much so I guess the series is just an opening for something more

maybe you are correct about that

Like most folks I would agree - the third episode was very enjoyable but as also said a touch short. I think the ending needed a bit more. With a show like this, I think it's important to end on a moment - something that draws the viewer back to see what happens next and EP3 didn't quite do that. We knew a few mins earlier what was coming so the impact of the final scene was lost somewhat - but that is a minor gripe.

there was so much fun the space chase and battle balanced with the exploration of the relationship between Sabine and Ashoka with Huyang providing some nice levity - can't wait for EP4....

In general I would say that I am enjoying it. It looks spectacular and I like the characters as I loved the cartoons from which they came. I am finding the story a bit of a slow burn, but that could just be impatience as I am expecting some awesome episodes once it gets to where I think it's going.

Seems like I'm in the minority but having just watched the first episode I had had high hopes for this one. Largely disappointed so far. Felt the direction and cinematography was more like The Book of Boba Fett and I wanted it to be more like early Mandalorian or better still Andor. The sets and wardrobe for the opening rebel scenes felt like you were watching a set on the theatre stage rather than a multi million pound budgeted Disney series. Hey Ho but that's just my opinion.

I think you're right comparing the direction and cinematography to Book of Boba - but hardly surprising since that was the first show Mr Filoni ever directed on (live action that is) - pretty sure he didn't direct any Mano episodes, so it sort of makes sense that he has taken his learnings from that into Ahsoka. Also Steph Green is another who directed on both shows, so a lot of crossover there.

This just popped up as a Facebook suggestion. Comments even mention Maul being cut in half 😄

Filoni directed three episodes MANDO (including the first one) before his BOBA FETT episode.

Episode 3 is fantastic. A lightsaber duel on the hill of a ship is something I have yearned for for decades - so Ahsoka talking her little stroll was kind of like a dream come through. :)

Like others I was disappointed the episode was not an hour but obviously there is a reason to stop there. Beauty of this being streaming is another episode can go over an hour.

Nice to see Jacen. The actor is listed in the main credits so he must be in more episodes ans have apart to play in the larger story that is coming together.

I know there is talk about the identity of Marrok but I don't think he is someone we know from other stories. I think Filoni put a mask on him just so it have us talking. I did though have an idea the other day that it was a certain someone - I couldn't remember if specific moments of the character or movements in the fight but from this episode it is obviously a male so not the character I had thought it could be.

Good also to see Genevieve O'Reilly again.

Would be nice if Ackbar made an appearance too - he is Hera's boss so he could probably circumvent the senators.

I thought with the conference call that Filoni was introducing a future source of difficulties for the wider mythology with the senator who was the main cause of Hera's request being denied. Afterwards though it occurred to me was it only the father of the main character in RESISTANCE? Beautiful animation but terrible stories and awful characters.

OK, I've watched episode 3. I enjoyed it, but I am starting to have a little sympathy with those that have been complaining that the show is too slow to get going (they actually usually say 'boring', but I disagree with that description). One of the regular criticisms of Disney+ shows in both the MCU and Star Wars has been that they take a good idea for a 2 hour film, but then stretch / pad it out to 6 or 8 episodes with a load of filler. I really hope that doesn't happen here with 'Ahsoka' as I really am enjoying it, but I also can't help thinking that there's nothing in the first 3 episodes that couldn't have been done more efficiently in 2. We're nearly halfway through the series (and yes, episode 3 was a very short one; seemingly over just as it had begun), and we still haven't seen Ezra (unless he's Marrok, and if he is, I will be SUPER pissed off!) or Thrawn, or even The Ghost! (which is pure idiocy on Disney and Hasbro's part, since they're busy trying to flog us all the HasLab version).

To be clear, I'm still enjoying the show, but I do want the episodes to be longer and for the story to get a move on.

Yeah, it's seems to be the overlying problem with SW D+. Stretching out enough material for a decent 2 hour movie, into a multi-episode series.

Whilst I've enjoyed Ahsoka, to a point, it just seems like "butter spread over too much bread" as a certain hobbit once said.

SW doesn't seem to suit episodic TV.
Its home was and always should be on the silver screen.
