Hi guys,

New to the forum but a long time vintage Starwars collector. Had a bunch of figures when I was a kid, which when I got a house big enough (about 10 years ago) I reclaimed from my parents loft! Being the sad git I am I kept all my figures in good condition with there weapons etc and had just over 50...over the last 10 years I have been slowly completing the full set of loose figures with their original weapons. I still have a couple of outstanding bits and pieces but almost there! I am know to my mates as wookiee or cheewiee due to being 6ft 4 and hairy! I can be found on Ebay as cheewiee and on Retrobike forums as wookiee (another of my passions). I do hope that this forum is as friendly as the retrobike one and I look forward to chatting with you guys...

Doug (cheewiee/wookiee)

Thanks guys...I'm no expert but I am learning a lot reading this forum!

Hi Doug! Welcome mate.

When you say retro bikes, do you mean stuff like Grifters, Choppers and Raleigh Burners or do you mean those with motors?! :)

I'm Nick and I'm a 44 year old toy addict. It's been three weeks now since my last purchase.

I've been collecting for about 15 years now. Not really got a focus as such, but I'm currently trying to finish my vintage ESB and ROTJ carded collections. I live in Hitchin, Herts.

Welcome Nick, you're in the right place :)

Check out some of the sales threads, there's some really top sellers here that will help you fill in the gaps of your collection with quality stuff and genuine accessories.

Cool, feel free to post some more info in the Off Topic section, would like to know more.

I bet most of the lads on here had something similar growing up - I had a Mk1 Raleigh Burner (with leatherette style pads), the gold and black one. That got nicked so I had a Mk2 - good times.

You never see groups of kids out on bikes anymore - too busy with X Boxes and alcopops.

Hi All

Have been lurking a while and wanted to say hello!

Still have all my old childhood loose figures and recently decided to buy a couple of MOCs off eBay.

Took delivery this week and have got the bug and will be looking to complete my loose collection and start collecting some MOCs slowly! (To avoid getting divorced)

Be warned I may point stupid questions in people's general direction on here!

Nicky

Hi all - Princess Raya, London. Born in '79 and started collecting Star Wars way before I was even capable of forming long term memories. I amassed an almighty collection of loose figures and vehicles. But then, one fateful day - disaster struck. I'm sure many of you already know what happened next... I shall recount the painful memories anyway, so that future generations can learn from our mistakes.

The year was 1988. Back in the heady days before repro weapons and ebay. If a kid was bored(?) of his toys and wanted to trade them in, he had to attend an event known as a "Boot Fair". For the younger generation not familiar with Boot Fairs, it involves getting up at the crack of dawn and selling old junk from the back of your dad's Cortina.

It all went. Amanaman, EV-9D9, Luke Stormtrooper - gone. The X-Wing, the AT-AT and Slave I, lost forever. It brings a tear to my eye thinking of those poor figures now being flogged from one ebay dealer to the next. And for what? What did a 9 year old need with the money away? Frittered away on frivolities such as sex, drugs and rock and roll, no doubt.

So now I've begun my quest to rebuild the collection. There were a few Boot Fair survivors: Boba Fett (I wasn't THAT stupid), R2-D2 Pop-Up Lightsaber (No saber, no sticker), a beaten up Snowspeeder and an AT-ST which has had a respray at some point in it's lifetime to cover up all the Ewok blood/felt tip. (The Empire won most of my Endor battles)

Pleased to now be a member of a like-minded community.

P.S. If anybody ever spots a one-legged Luke Farm Boy, then please - return him to his rightful owner.

Yeah welcome Princess Raya (not sure how you prenounce that) :? Great post and your at the right place.

I'll look out for a one legged Luke as well, I've got a spare leg, but it's AFA graded.

I look forward to your future post's. 8)

Hi all, longtime fan born in 1980.

Lucky enough to have a Father that instilled the values of never getting rid of a package or losing a weapon. Had a very decent collection when I decided to complete it whilst an awkward teen. Mainly vintage loose figure based. Now at the stage of collecting mint versions of those "battle worn" figures and/or variants.

Also keen on picking up a set of loose Ewoks or Droids figures. Though never seen them in the wild!

Look forward to posting.

Jonny :)

Welcome guys! You're in the right place ;)

As theforceuk says, don't worry about disagreements from time to time- makes the place more interesting. At the end of the day, we're all 'Utd' with a common purpose ;)
