Hi I am not sure if this was brought up before about older films you had watched as a kid. Was thinking about our old vhs recorder last night we owned which my dad brought us in the 80s. And watching films with my brother's and sister with mum and dad. They we're great times when I look back but never realised it at the time. Was just wondering do you guys have any old films you could re watch over again with great memories when growing up.
Here are a few of mine I will keep out Star wars :)
The Goonies
Labyrinth
The never ending story
Super man
Super girl
First blood
Flight of the navigator
ET
Short circuit
Temple of doom
Inner space
Mad max 2
The Terry fox story
There's a couple there I blame my older cousins on while visiting there house :) But when I look back it was all innocent fun. There are many more I could list but that was just a few in no particular order.

I do but the list changes from time to time. Only recently I remembered just how much I love Beverly Hills Cop. What a fantastic film. Don't really care much for the second one but the original is Eddy Murphy at his best. Very funny.

Old ones that go on quite often in our house are Princess Bride and Labyrinth. I am the sort of person who can watch and rewatch films over and over. Must have seen Bladerunner and the Shining a few times each this year already :)

There's quite a few on that list I'd definitely rewatch

Others for me include

Ghostbusters
Karate Kid
Caddy Shack

Yep, most on that list. I have quite an extensive film & TV catalogue, but what I tend to do is scroll through the TV schedule on my Virgin box befire work, and hit record for anything old and new I'd be happy watching, but not watching, if you know what I mean. Basically if I'm doing some housework or browsing the web, I can have it on and just look up from time to time.

The Breakfast Club
Ferris Buellers Day off
Home Alone
Top Gun
I can watch those four again and again and again and again... and generally do!

Put these on the list...

GREMLINS
FLASH GORDON
SPINAL TAP
JAWS

All classics I can watch again and again

Home Alone 1&2 :D Always forget about those. Most enjoyable thing on at Christmas these days

Also if you recorded any of these films off of the tv from back in the day you'll remember where the adverts were.
If I watch a DVD of say Star Wars and at certain moments I can remember the old Betamax where the adverts would cut in.

If any of that makes sense.

I do get a buzz of nostalgia from watching films from the 70's/80's

I love the old horror movies from those times

Halloween
The Fog
The exorcist
Amityville

I remember the first time we had a VHS, my dad was looking after it for a neighbour while he was away on business...
Think it was a Ferguson Videostar toploader, I remember him putting on the first film "Beverly hills cop" on and quickly switching it off at the first bit when Eddie starts swearing in the back of the truck :D...We only had it for a week, then a burglar drilled the living room wooden window frame, snapped off the radio aerial from my dad's cortina estate, then used it to lift up the window latch, climbed in and took the VHS, I was gutted. :(

It's worth also watching the more obscure 70s/80s movies like...

The Dirt bike Kid
The Big Bus
Death Race 2000
Ghost Chase
F/X - Murder by Illusion

That's awful!

I remember F/X murder by illusion. Pretty good film from what I remember

The one movie you guys are missing, but will all say, 'oh yeah, that's a great film.' - The Last Starfighter!...

And of course Indiana Jones for me :D

It was mate... :( I remember that the burglar left footprint on the couch and my old man throught it would be a nice bit of evidence to catch him, the whole family made sure we did'nt disturb it and patiently waited for the police to come round, A bobby walked in to the living room and started to ask a few questions....before we could tell him he sat down on the evidence
suprisingly enough we never got that VHS back :D
