I have started with the person who appears to be closes to me geographically to keep costs down and I'll be in touch with others thereafter asap.

Guess I would have been happier if you'd started with the person that messaged you first - however, if you don't get things sort ed with them I can arrange for someone to come down an collect it all if you want a bulk deal done

Correct me if I am wrong gents as I too am fairly new to the forum, although I have been familiar with it for years...

But shouldn't this have played out in the following manner..?

First should have been prices...

If valuations were required / not known, then the appropriate forum should have been used...with several related threads...

Then, and only then, a sales thread should have been opened...with prices...

First message received should ALWAYS be answered first...that person should have first chance in my opinion.

It's a huge lot though and after reading the rules, selling in bulk is not recommended.
If the seller is not willing to break up their collection and sell individually then it might be best if someone locally is interested.
They can go round inspect everything and hopefully negotiate a price and any stuff they don't want they can sell off. Seems a bit unfair first come first served in this instance since (like you say) there's no price and the second or third person might be prepared to make a better offer.

Yeah, but this isn't a site to advertise items for auction. If not selling individually.

Like others, I would've been interested in some of the cards. However, it appears contact has been made with interested buyers already :?

Yer it's a tricky one since he should really use Ebay or the local paper if he's not revealing a price and looking at the site rules this post should have been locked or deleted!

"Please make sure that all items in your for sale threads have a price attached to them. Members that aren't sure how much their items are worth are free to ask for help in the valuations section. Any for sale thread that does not have a list of prices may be temporarily locked or deleted"

Perhaps a new section should be added for bulk lots and a new set of rules put in place.
I do hope this lot is real and they go to a good home.

To be honest the rules are pointless if not adhered to but it seems to vary post by post what is acceptable and for whom

Well I suppose no system is perfect but as long as every so often someone on here gets a piece for their collection without having to suffer the horrors of ebay then this section is a winner.

Sent you a pm Nick. I would be interested in the sealed 12 Back or Trilogos if any.

I prefer you could post prices and pictures on the forum to be fair to everyone. Iain is the best person to give you a fair valuation.

Regards

Jas

This thread is starting to get on my nerves. Why has it not been locked!? Why no intervention from the Mods? Do the rules not apply? It seems like double standards to me. I've seen similar threads with no prices or inviting offers shut down immediately. No doubt we would all like a chance to buy some of the MOCS but now there's PM's and backdoor deals going on. Either the OP should have named their price for the whole lot from the start or break it up and sell individually with prices, i.e read the rules before posting! Sorry guys... rant over :p

Completely agree Rob. No pms or offers should be made until the newbie either sells locally to someone on here or states a price with pictures and then it's fcfs and all the risk that entails.
