Things are looking up at the Villa

Watched the game today and although Southampton should never have had a penalty we just aren't good enough. We should have got a point after the amount we threw at them in the 2nd half but it just says it all when you're complaining that we should have got a point against Southampton

Watch Match of the Day tonight and you'll see the dive - Stevens (very young left back) went in the for the tackle... Jay Rodriguez sees him coming in and goes over before he's touched. The ref hasn't got a choice due to his position. Gutted.

No idea what Lerner or Lambert are doing - they know we have one of the smallest and youngest squads in the league, so it seems so far that they aren't doing anything about it.

And why N'Zogbia keeps getting a game is beyond me

Never a penalty, i'll give you that, and Hansen has a point when he slags off your left back. WTF is he doing on the left wing all the time? Defenders job is to ehhh Defend!

No idea whats going on at Villa but they need to sort it out ASAP or they are gone, and the Championship is a bloody tough league to get out of. Paying the price for 2 poor managerial appointments before Lambert.

Completely agree with you there Weas. To be fair, there aren't a lot of fans moaning about Lambert (yet). There is still a lot of anger about McLeish and Martin O'Neill, some of which I agree with and some of which I don't. I think it would really help if it was properly disclosed why O'Neill left in the manner in which he did. Gerrad Houllier really didn't have enough time to do anything which was a shame.

I will NEVER understand the whole McLeish appointment. It's one of the most nonsensical decisons i have ever seen. Worse than Turkey's voting for Christmas.

before kick off tonight it was about 7/1 - before kick off last week it was about 33/1 !

Losing once to a fourth tier side is excusable, a one off bad night/fluke etc, but to go out to them over 2 legs without winning either leg........

Ooh, was just about to concur when they scored. It didn't look like it was coming. Villa have been outclassed by Bradford for the 2nd time. Woeful.

I meant at the start of the tournament. Still, 33/1. Would have been worth a sneeky £10.

Aye, winning one leg is still woeful. Beaten over 2 legs by a team 3 leagues below you. Utterly pathetic.

Fair play to Bradford though, i'll be cheering for them in the final.

Ps, am i right in thinking they CAN'T qualify for Europe as UEFA/the FA changed the rules so teams from the third tier and below couldn't qualify?

Ohh and after the spanking Villa gave Liverpool a few weeks ago, TF we didn't draw Bradford! Lol

Pretty sure the rule is you have to win the cup to get in Europe. If Chelsea make it into the final and win the cup and they finish in the champions league/UEFA Cup spot then it's the 6th/7th team in the Premier League that takes the UEFA Cup spot.
If Bradford win, surely they go into Europe?

What a **** game... just like West Brom, we were all over them in the first half and then in the second half :?

Read the other day that Lambert has said that Villa fans should not be expecting any new signings     What the ****??? Is he blind? Does he think we can fight relegation with this squad? Is Lerner not coughing up any money?

Gutted - not because of tonight but because of the whole season
