Been trying a few variations on my banner. It all looked a bit too orange so took pigcity's idea to make some of the text white.
Tried the Star Wars font too which i think looks pretty good. Tho i don't think it works having it for both the main text and the lower text line so i've used different fonts for each.
On this one i've removed the ".co.uk" what do people think about that? If people think it should stay .co.uk then i can put it back but will need to squish the banner border. Easily done-ish.
Tried the text with colour tints too. One grey on white the other blue on white. Trying to give it a slightly metallic look.
Regarding changing the silhouettes to action figures- tho quite a good idea it is a massive ball-ache. You'd have to find high resolution images of the figures dead straight on (not posed) and then basically paint them in to make them silhouettes. If you can find the images (possible the first 12) then i'd be happy to give it a try.
I did a version using the first 12 image from the back of a 12 back card but it doesn't work. And they're sitll not action figures so no read need.

I would advise to re-size all of these to 90 pixels high and see how they look at the correct size and dropped into a dummy browser window
Something that looks great (as all of these do) at the incorrect size may not always translate into something that works at the required size.
Any small detail will be lost at that size and be pretty insignificant

I tried silhouetting the original figures for my banner design as suggested but they just looked too vague and nondescript at that size. Didn't really add anything. The original one looked better.
But i thought i'd do a 'reall-ilfe' full colour version using the first 12 Kenner figs. This was a pain in the arse but at least it incorporates vintage figures.

Andy, love the lightsaber banner-that would work really well with the limited space that there actually is 'up top'.
Pete, your last design is something special. Superb idea adding the 'real life' figures to the layout, I'm guessing they'll have that original cardback 'fuzziness' about them once it's dropped into the required web format sizing that PC suggests. Hope that doesn't sound derogatory, that's not my intention. I've always loved the rotoscoped renditions of the original 12 on those first cardbacks... if you can acquire that effect, then that would compliment this forum's embrace of vintage perfectly. In my opinion!

Some really great designs guys, way out of my league this stuff.
I personally feel 'less is more' and I like Andy's Lightsaber design

On that; is there gonna be more room made available for a banner at the top of the screen? The space there at the moment is no where near enough for a banner imo. Is it easy enough to make more space. A banner would usually be 2.5-3inches high. There's less than an inch there currently.
