Can't really compete with Petes design... 8) but here's my latest little doddle..

Personally mate, I'd leave out the 'vintage forum' and whatnot- it detracts from the image... which i think would sit very well as the masthead to the forum, sans text... very striking 8) I got the idea as a complete newbie that this place (thankfully) was 'vintage only' within an hour of navigating myself around... so I feel there is little need to spell it out.
Pete, I love the work you've created, but fear the detail may be lost once it's 'shrunk to fit' the available working space, so to speak. If Edd can enlarge the depth, then it would definitely work; but as it is? I'm sorry to say, I just think it will disappear into a soup of pixels.
How about separating the First 12 line-up, upscaling that isolated image: fitting it alongside to the right of your 'STARWARSFORUM' logo, complete with the star lit background. Elongated in this way, I do believe it really would make for a striking banner in the current space, fitting the available width as it stands. Just an idea. Discard as you see fit :wink:
There's been agreeable nods towards Andy's re-work, although nothing mentioned about Ham's... I'd like to state here and now, my support towards the both of them: they've taken on board the restrictions of the current working space and come up with the goods, in my opinion. Naturally, I consider them both to be in the running as serious contenders. Andy, that lightsaber logo sits in there perfectly, an inspired choice of image :wink:

Thanks for that Martin, have taken your advice and gone for a different, more minimal looking design.

My only issue is the colour scheme and background of the forum currently. Mine doesn't really go that well. But the size is not an issue. Thankfully.

Thank you Martin for your feedback although I sincerely had no expectations for a response, I just wanted to help.
A pleasure to meet you my friend and going by what I've seen on here they're all creatively fun and eye catching for sure. I haven't managed to do any more as I said because I've been doing some painting which has taken up most of my time, pleasurably!
