I'd rather 50 quid to spend on what I want, when I want, that's all. Sounds like AJ is the same.

Why is it so bad to just get the coin sent over to whoever wins? Seems like less work for everybody involved, too me. If we just wanna keep it simple. That's how you do it IMO. Especially if tis a regular occurence.

Members can still hold their own Ed style raffle/giveaway in the meantime.

Not if they do what Pete suggested :roll: its really that simple, cash I think would detract from the whole experience, I would like to be in but I am a bit on the fence over it TBH as a mystery gift or paypal/forum buy would sit better with me personally - cash is cold & hard & takes all the fun out of it for this boy at least JMO.

There is an 'average' selection on ebayaus. Great items do show up, it usually takes time to pick up anything worthwhile. I'd say less than 10% of my stuff was sourced locally.

Edit: perhaps give the winner a choice: a mystery prize OR paypal money to buy yourself a prize

Yeah, probably the best option.

It may just mean the winner has to wait a while longer for their prize as Edd won't be able to buy until after the draw, but there's not realy a simpler option to keep everyone happy.

Get real Weaz, relying on our convict heritage we just steal each others collections. I'd suggest a cash for convicts scheme so we can all go purchase ourselves brand new balaclavas and a nice shiny new crowbar.

The format for Ed's competition would be my preference. I don't mind donating something every so often, as long as you don't mind Fett related items.

Do a months trial with a mystery prize, see how the logisitics go and if the wheels fall off the bus dont do it again or go cash.

The mystery has to be the fun, i mean where not going down coral and picking a random horse to pay for your kebab this is a dedicated forum..so a mystery gift it must be.. If you have a deadline of x you can do the draw in secret and know where the winner resides and buy the item from that relevant ebay or see if the seller on here will ship an item to that country, then announce the winner at the end of the month. They may then be able to showcase it within a couple of days..

however a cunning plan could be, get everyones fivers and place the gift as something you want shot of so you can buy what you want... :lol:

If it's a SW theme prize, count me out. I collect Dengar items. That's it as far as Star Wars goes. They are few and far between for me as it is nowadays, so the chances of me spending it on something SW is pretty slim.
But I am cool if you just wanna do it for prizes instead of cash. Will just have to sit it out. 8)

The thing about Ed's competition format that appealed, was not knowing what the prizes were. I could blow £5 on scratch cards if I wanted cash ... Perhaps that isn't a fair comparison, idk.

Cash would be the best option to cover all bases though, I agree.
