Seems simple enough to me. I would give it a try the first time and if i didn't like it i wouldn't do it again.
You just have a thread for the 'monthly raffle' with paypal details of whoever then people post on there "I'VE PAID!" or "I'M IN! MONEY SENT" and at the end of the month you draw from those who have paid. Those who haven't are obviously not in the draw.

Whatever the **** you do, DO NOT put on the paypal gift payment anything to do with it being a raffle.
When we get the PayPal addy to send to that is.
I just remember John on TIG getting grief from PayPal for doing this as people were sending the money and in the message part writing "for the raffle" etc.

Haha yes, the prize money will simply be sent to the winner, and they must spend the money on a Star Wars toy.

I think that's a tricky way of doing it. Sending someone money and telling them they must spend it on a certain thing doesn't seem quite right.
You could always use a specially made paypal and ebay account where the money stays and the winner gets to bid on something using the account.
Either that or once we know how many runners there are/how much money is in the pot, everyone lists their "want" and the competition runner purchases on the winners behalf and has the item sent to them.

Just spend it on whatever you want, I reckon. I am sure some of it will at least go towards some more toys.

This is a good idea.

Expect membership to increase tenfold though

Sounds like a headfuck too me that way. It means instead of the organiser just sending the coin over...they have to get it (the prize) sent to them and then post it on again?
I swear...the drugs you cunts are on sometimes blows the **** I am smoking away.

The **** im smoking is AFA Graded. Get on the baby woodrose Josh- it will change your life.

Plus if you set up a special Ebay account you'll have the problem of items going to different addresses every month. more hassle. It's probably easier to just send the winner the money, with the idea that he spends it on SW, if he wants to spend it on drugs and whores so be it.

Personaly I would prefer a prize rather than cash (we might end up starting a cash pyramid scheme otherwise  ). The trouble is people would want to know what the prize is before entering, then after seeing it they might not want it, then it doesn't get paid for. God its going to be tough to keep people happy (maybe just giving the winner the cash is the best option, they can top even it up and go large  )

I was thinking that going bi-annually or quarterly might make things more manageable and increase numbers. (No Bi Anal-y jokes please  )

so theres no obligation some months you could pay and some not!? i thought you were gonna charge £5 month for being a member on the forum for a moment. but the general idea of a monthly raffle or everyother month is a good one 8)

I send stuff to several addresses via my ebay account. It's no issue whatsoever. You just change the address on the invoice.

No you get it sent straight to their address from ebay. (see above comment)

Well if you can do it I guess it could be an option that way.
I stand corrected, Pete. Your drugs are not as good as mine

Personally, it's a non starter for me. I'm not collecting any more so no attraction in the draw for me.
For those who are collecting it's a trade off between the loss of £5 a month/£60 a year, versus the chance of winning an item from Ebay worth whatever the jackpot is. Plus of course the added element of a little suspense/fun once a month.

Not a bad idea Edd. Be interesting to see how the guys feel. If I was still collecting I'd take it on.

As for logistics it may not be too bad. The biggest hassle will be chasing people up for the monthly payment. Does PP allow for monthly payments a la direct debits?

ditto
