Resealed figure discovery debate - G.Kurtz Palitoy VC Jawa.

Playing devils advocate here - what exactly do you want as proof - I can't see Toni coming on here and admitting all (if the allegations are true)

I said about 200 pages ago there's virtually no possibility of proof any more. People just have to consider the various sources of information for themselves and make their own judgements.

For me, I moved from being very dubious about what I was hearing to absolutely convinced of something more than just fishy when Joe made his post about mint/u grades being bought by Toni. I also said earlier that Toni might have been sold the assembled stuff from someone else and not even aware of a possible reseal and I wasn't prepared to condemn him outright at the time, but seeing that from Joe is just a step too far.

If anyone can think of any logical reason why he'd be buying those particular figures then I'd love to hear it. He's clearly got no need to flip them, not when he's already turning over a ton of money already selling those cardbacks.

People defending him now are wasting their time imo. Toni should be defending himself, only he knows what he bought.

Ok I'm sticking my reputation on the line here. Actually just realised I don't have one. But anyway.... I'm in JJs camp. There is just too much that is wrong here and the silence is deafening. I hope I'm wrong for the sake of friends who may have these cards but I don't think so.

I also think that how these are sealed should be studied very carefully.
Lol!

Paul, Toni's full name is Antoni Emchowicz.
thats the one he used to buy loads of mint figures from me between 2006-2008
Can you remember any particular characters from memory Paul??

So we need someone with a non Toni gm moc and a Toni gm moc, if anyone is willing to send these to Steve at ukg for an impartial comparison I'll pay for them to be graded and return postage. Any takers?

The unusual figures found on some of these cards in question tallies with loose figures found in the wild. I don't think there is anything to worry about there.

So Ive just returned to a copy of Toni's sales list dated 2008 that "Escapist" linked to in this thread on Page 37. All 3 of those figures that Paul "Rangersjedi" mentions are available. Coincidence? Perhaps...

"If" U graded figures are being recarded that should be the updated explaination in the dictonary for irony and stupidity.

he lurved a mint yoda im my mental wee head i named him toni yoda

Like a lot of people I have been following this thread. I do not have a dog in the fight as I dont own any of the pieces in question. I also have never dealt with JJ or Toni, to my knowledge. One thing I thought I could add is the 25,000 cardbacks and the figures needed. So I am guessing that there are multiple characters included in the 25,000 cardbacks. For simple math lets say that there are 25 characters so 1,000 cardbacks per character. Now it seems like the rumors of this deal are from the early 90's so that was 20 years ago at this point. So that means you have to find about 50 mint figures a year if you started with 0. And that also is assuming that all 25,000 have been sold. There still could be half of that amount of unused cardbacks waiting for figures still.

So Basically you would have to find about 25 or so mint figures a year to make this work. I think for a person who is a toy dealer as a profession this would not be difficult. I am an avid flipper on the side and have quite a few figures go through my hands in any given year. Not to mention back in the day when it was not actively collected I would think it would have been even easier. So from my point of view obtaining the figures while at first seems daunting I dont think would be a real issue, if you put some effort into it.

Regarding what actually happened I have no idea, but I do think it is possible to obtain the figures needed.

Todd

To add to what Todd has just posted, I have been reliably informed that Toni does have a second ebay account (not marsking) which he still uses to buy "mint/off the card" figures. I myself have checked the feedback and that does seem to be the truth, there were even a few U grade figures being bought by Toni too.

The mint figures Toni has recently bought on ebay are the following:

FX-7
SNOWTROOPER
LUKE FARMBOY BROWN HAIR
STORMTROOPER
LOGRAY
BOSSK
2-1B
REBEL COMMANDER
LOBOT
C-3P0 REM LIMBS

I know Toni sometimes sells loose figures but I would have thought as a dealer he wouldn't be paying top dollar for figures if he was going to then sell them as loose examples. A £25 loose Stormtrooper (advertised as "off the card") or a £70 U85 Stormtrooper doesn't leave much room for profit surely? Unless of course you were using the figure for another purpose..

Now, this thread started off about Joiner and I still very much want to go over the things Joiner has done in his past as soon as I can compile some evidence together but this thing with Toni really needs to be addressed. As such, I don't think we can really move on to props and grey limbed snowtroopers any time soon. Not until we hear from Joiner and see that list (and some more evidence if possible) and of course hear back from Toni.

The second ebay account might be nothing but it does worry me quite a bit especially when you look at the figures he is buying in mint condition.

Thats a pretty damning list of mint figures to be paying over the odds on given the list of MOCs Toni has for sale.
We know about Tonis ebay account marsking. Are you able to disclose the id of this second account?

This would mean that he has a sealing technique figured out which could be done on demand from unassembled stock.

OK-

legally- Mr Emchowicz Lawyer would advise him to say nothing.

If the case against him his true and a case built on the accusation of fraud. It would go to the High Court and Mr Emchowicz could face, if found guilty a lengthy prison sentence.

I am desperately hoping that this is not true.

It would be up to Mr. Emchowicz to pay costs for a case if he wished to sue Mr Joiner for slander. If Mr Emchowicz can prove that Mr. Joiners claims are false. Mr Joiner would have to refund all court costs and pay out a large sum of money in damages.

I know this sounds extreme. But it could easily go this way if we take into account the breath of money involved from every collector.

I did think it was strange why he mostly wanted those figures(yodas, rebel commanders and bossk) and they had to be minty i just though he had buyers for them he bought lloooaaddssss.
