As Im looking these days for some carded figures I have a few questions regarding them.
Is there any guide or easy ways to spot a recarded figure ? When Im looking at ebay (not my preferred place to look, but its always some Stormtroopers on there) I try to compare them to graded ones and to me it seems like the punch is an easy way to spot a recarded one.
I also read about the wafer pattern, but this doesnt seem to be decisive ?. Also I check that the bubble is not oversized.
What other ways can I decide, looking at pictures that a Carded figure actually is original ? Im contemplating a bid on an ungraded MOC ESB Stormtrooper in the range 100-150 pounds I just want to make sure I dont fall into any traps early in my collecting career.
Also, Im just curious to why the ESB Troopers have an extra number below the product number like #asst 39300.
Would appreciate any input on this topic
