Premiership 2008-09 predictions

 alonso is a better player in terms of skill than gareth barry, but barry and gerrard is a more formidable partnership, especially if mascharano is operating behind them. alonso and gerrard dont seem to be as consistant together.

****ing scouse twats better leave downing alone Liverpool think they can just wade into smaller clubs and fill their boots when they feel like it bunch of cunts :x

 jays got a point..... scousers are twats

Alonso can only really play in central midfield whereas Barry can play centre back, left back, central midfield and on the left wing plus he's English and if these new rules get the go ahead we are going to need a few more. :x

I don't think the new rules can go ahead, something about the EU employment policy thingy. It discriminates against foreigners so they won't allow it.

The dick heads at UEFA/FIFA may think they can do whatever they want, but the bigger bunch of dickheads at the EU can tell them where to go!

Ohh and Boro can keep Downing, HE'S ****!

at least you've not just bought a mutant headed frenchman

but i suppose Silvestre will be decent back up...

I've got a sneaky feeling Barry might still end up at Arsenal - though I'd prefer Alonso

I remember playing your lot at the start of last season (or it may have been the one before) and it was the Steven Gerrard show. He ran the whole game for 90 mins.............and we drew. The number of tackles he won and balls he fed into the box was amazing, but our forwards just couldn't stick the ****ing ball in the back of the net

Boro always seem to do well against the 'big four' but then struggle aginst the supposedly lesser sides.

Boro were unlucky Jay, bit of a daylight robbery job!

Simon, I think the baggies may struggle. Good footballing team (unlike Stoke and Bolton etc) but with defending like that! Not gonna mention the Carling cup.

As for United, they did OK (considering who all was out), but Pompey looked ****. With Kabul at the back they will ship goals at a rate of knots, Glen Johnson didn't exactly impress either.

Even Steve G said the boro deserved a point im not to bothered though we just hammered Yeovil Town in the Cup 5 - 1 and our new boys Martin Emeres and Digard got goals as well as Mido's 3rd in 3 games and 1 each for Johnson and Allieardie so a good run out! I can see Boro doing ok this season Southgate has spent well in my book and our team is the youngest in the premiership. 8)

You a 'Gers man or a Bhoys fan?

You've never met any Northern Irish/Irish Rangers or Celtic fans then!? I've heard some of the chants and the songs............ :?
I assumed (maybe incorrectly) that the Scottish fans were as bad.

I'm a Tim.

And no, you're right. At least partially - there are still some nasty elements to Scottish football. In some ways it's improved over the past 15-20 years, but you'll always get some undesirables :(

"A Tim"?

I think all clubs have undeseriable elements in their fan base, it just seems to be with Rangers and Celtic there is a much more overtly sectarian nature to it. Obviously footy over here is completly free of sectarianisn.........that's why I'd rather lobotomise myself than go watch it.

That's true and certainly most of the bad press up here is given to Old Firm fans. And, while I'm not denying that we shouldn't get bad press when we deserve it, I don't think it's just the Old Firm that has the problem.

A Celt ;)

Sorry, it was my poor attempt at humour after your sectarian jibe. :)

Aye, that went straight over my head. Still don't see the link TBH!

Obviously your tipping Rangers for the league then!
Ohh and for the Champions league!
