Back by popular demand, well theforceuk's demand, here is the annual embarrass yourself on football predictions thread. I added two new categories this year.

Usual routine Pick your best guess for the following

1) PL winner
2) Team that comes second behind City
3) Other CL qualifiers (PL only, no UEFA cup backdooring)
4) FAC winner
5) Worthless Cup winner
6) CL Winner
7) CL runner up
8 ) Europa League winner
9 ) Relegated from PL
10) The award for the team that massively exceeds expectations
11) Team that stinks the place out and does much worse than they should
12) The Mo Salah award for best signing of the summer
13) Wayne Rooney award for worst signing of the summer
14) First manager sacked
15) Top scorer
16) First player to test positive for Covid (after the season starts)
17) The Brendan Rodgers award for the team that gets into a great position and chokes.
18) Any random predictions you want to make

I'm going to wait until a few more signings are made first

Aye, I tend to wait until a few days before the season starts just in case there are any big last minute signings/sales.

I think Phil McNulty's list is pretty sensibe based on who each team has now. I'm still expecting (OK hoping) beginners luck runs out for one of Lampard, Soelskjar or Arteta, but we'll have to wait and see. I would love to see Messi and Bale in the PL, that could shake things up significantly!

Any of the bottom half could go down. So much dross there. Burnley and SU possibly aside. I could even see Saints going down. They probably won't, but weirder things have happened.

I actually think Liverpool will do it again but I can't bring myself to pick them first again!

I think Bale may end up in the PL as Real Madrid have agreed to pay half his wages.

Honestly mate, I would bite your arm off for 17th in the league and the FA Cup this season  I've enjoyed Spurs being competitive for the last 8 or so years, but it's time to put another trophy in the cabinet, at all costs. I think Jose may be the man for that.

Obviously all of these predictions are based on teams as they stand with 3 weeks of the transfer window to go. Ohh and needless to say they will all be wrong.

1) PL winner City
2) Team that comes second behind City Liverpool.
3) Other CL qualifiers (PL only, no UEFA cup backdooring) Chelsea and then one from 3, hoping I jinx it, I'll go for Utd
4) FAC winner City
5) Worthless Cup winner City (they get stupidly easy draws in domestic cups and have a massive squad)
6) CL Winner Could be any of about 6 sides, I'll be daft and go for Pool
7) CL runner up See above, City
8 ) Europa League winner, Hard to say without seeing CL groups, Sevilla
9 ) Relegated from PL, Take your pick, any one of about 10. Fulham, WBA and Palace
10) The award for the team that massively exceeds expectations No one, really. Southampton, cos **** knows.
11) Team that stinks the place out and does much worse than they should Leicester. Brendan's confidence trick has worn off. Who saw that coming!?
12) The Mo Salah award for best signing of the summer Does Aubamayang count, if Arsenal trick him into wasting the end of his career playing for/carrying a club going nowhere!?
13) Wayne Rooney award for worst signing of the summer Rodriguez at Everton. He may do ok, but he will never justify that fee.
14) First manager sacked PLEASE be Jose. And please please please please **** right off and stay ****ed off when you get fired.
15) Top scorer Aguero
16) First player to test positive for Covid (after the season starts) Grealish is the obvious shout. I'll go for Lingard, cos he'll hardly be busy playing.
17) The Brendan Rodgers award for the team that gets into a great position and chokes. Tough one, what idiot thought this would be a good question to add? Ehhh Wolves
18) Any random predictions you want to make Chelsea to be like Keegan's Newcastle. Great to watch and full of goals but with a defence that ships them too. Unless they sign a keeper and a CB obv. Could be sink or swing for Fat Frank, he has got a lot of money to spend and 5 or 6 good signings to integrate into a team. He did ok last year with slightly reduced expectations due to the transfer ban. This season he really needs to push the top 2 and do a bit more in CL.

After choking last season and pissing away what should have been guaranteed CL footy, Brendan's confidence trick has been exposed (again), Chilwell is away, Vardy is getting on a bit..........

The first of those points was Leicester's 'sliding doors' moment. If they made the CL the money and prestige would have allowed them a decent push at establishing themselves in the top 6, ie those sides who are genuinely top four contenders every year. Missing it blows their confidence, means they miss out on 40m or more of CL money, they have to trapse round the backwater parts of Europe in the EL, and everyone gets reminded that when his "blow smoke up their asses and hope" strategy fails Brendan has no back up plan.

Mourinho either has an amazing 2nd term like he always does and they win the PL surprisingly or he stinks and gets sacked.
