Premier League Discussion Thread Season 2014-15

And he's banned! Lol.

Right with you Edd. Especially for the FAC, today is a day when BBC/ITV could show two or three games. Instead NOTHING.

Time for a rant - more than a dozen FA cup games on today, and not a single on of them are on either terrestrial or paid TV in the UK. Why the hell should we have to watch illegal American/Russian/Arabic/New Zealand streams of OUR OWN football matches? Do these FA morons not understand that they can't stop people watching the games any more, so they may as well make some money out of it. Sky on NowTV is a good start, but more needs to be done.

When is this ridiculous '3pm' rule going to change? Shouldn't there be a petition or something? I refuse to pay for Sky Sports or BT etc until ALL English football matches from all competitions are available to watch like they are in every other country.

It's a bit like the movie industry refusing to accept the fact that it's not the 1950s and people WILL illegally download films if they don't release them legally online. A mixture of greed and stupidity.

Totally with you edd!

Now which would prefer to watch

Everton v West Ham or Blyth Spartans v Birmingham?

No brainer surely?!!! :? No prices for guessing who the tv bosses picked!

So far, so routine for the FAC. No shocks at all. QPR are far too shite to be classed a shock, although fair play to Shef Utd.

What odds Liverpool providing the only shock of the round (by losing)!?

Yes its been a story of so close set so far this year with Blyth and Wrexham who I thought were particularly unlucky

Another disappointing draw.

As a U's fan i can't wait to see them play Utd at the Abbey, but realistically that's a gimme for Utd.
Chelsea get yet another easy home draw. Ditto City. The Brum WBA game could be interesting and I quite fancy Bournemouth at Villa. Other than that not many stand out ties at all. Been. Very underwhelming year for the FAC. Now watch Wimbledon beat Liverpool lol

Nah Cambridge have to be delighted with that. Especially if United play like they did in the first half against Yeovil.

The draw makes despressing viewing for Alfreton. Had they come through their segment which wouldnt have been out of the question they could have had a trip to Derby with the winner playing Chestefield. That would have been crazy!!

I heard Utd were bad in the first half against Yeovil. Surely not as bad as Liverpool were for 90 mins last night. TF they are getting rid of Gerrard given the shear number of other players waiting to take over from him

As for Mingolet for that first goal, I have seen six year old girls who are tougher than him. Pathetic. If Rodgers doesn't sign another keeper in the Jan window he needs a hiding.

I'd love to comment on the Burnley v Spurs game but sadly there were much more important things on TV last night like Jeremy Kyle and Pet's at Home so they couldn't show either the game itself or any highlights on any channels

Apparently there were under 10,000 people there, in all the photos I've seen it looks empty  not sure why, 2 PL teams in the FA Cup. Certainly proves the argument that not showing games on TV helps attendance is pure nonsense anyway.

Strange. Maybe with so many games in and around xmas and it being a Monday night people just gave it a miss. Or maybe they don't give a stuff about the third round of the cup

A major announcement from my local club Alfreton Town FC.

Are city really in need of another £30million striker?

Looks like it is going aged with Bony. Really dumb move on his part but when that much cash is waved in front of a player they falll for it every time. He'll be joining the list of promising players signed by City to keep their bench warm. (remember Scott Sinclair and Jack Rodwell?? )
Shame, i liked Bony. Looked to have a good career ahead of him.

Stupid move what's he gonna do when all strikers are fit?

Would have liked to see city give some academy players a chance.

Yeah strange move. He's a great player, but not top CL standard. City are paying massively over the odds for someone who will be a squad player. Still, when you have money to burn....

Good to see Valdes signing for Utd. Especially after Liverpool wisely decided not to sign him. Why would they want someone who has won ehh everything, when they could have the worst keeper in the PL! Especially when Valdes is free!

Liverpool's biggest enemy is themselves. Their transfer strategy is at best completely bizarre.
