Premier League 2012/13 Discussion Thread

To answer Pete's point above as an Arsenal fan Santi Cazorla dived to win a penalty and should be banned for 3 games. Theo has dived in the past too. Can't think of anymore of the top of my head. :D

Stevie G isnt too good at staying on his feet (and I'm a Pool fan). We all know what that wee ballbag Ronaldo was like as soon as anyone came near him. All players do it. But I think a retrospective 3 game ban isn't a bad idea.
It's maybe a little unfair in that the team the players dives/cheats against gets little or no direct benefit from his punishment, but I guess the same is true if he gets sent off for violent conduct in the last minute. Besides, no system is full proof.

And that's what's great about the cup. After shouting at the tele for an hour my Mrs says why do you support them if they are so bad.
That's why you should stay away from football Mrs.

Congrats to Mansfield Town on landing a home Tie with Liverpool in the FA Cup.

Unfortunately I can only see a heavy win in Liverpools favour. Mansfield do leak buckets of goals

Would love to be proved wrong however :D

Gonna quote you on that, if Mansfield win!
We just need another Djimi Traore wonder own goal and we're laughing.

Uefa Champions League last 16 draw:

Galatasaray v Schalke

Celtic v Juventus

Arsenal v Bayern Munich

Shakhtar Donetsk v Borussia Dortmund

AC Milan v Barcelona

Real Madrid v Manchester United

Valencia v Paris St Germain

Porto v Malaga

Slap it up Utd! For years and years they have got cushy draws in the groups stages and this year was no exception. Good to see them get a tough draw first up in the knock out stages.

Gonna be hard to do but I'll be cheering for Madrid, as the lesser of two evils. Though I still hope Ronaldo gets both his legs snapped off. And Ramos! And Mourinho!

Arse and Celtic will do well to get through in those games an all. No British interest in the 1/4's is looking very likely.

I agree. Man Utd are going to start dropping points at some point and Man City haven't even come close to finding form yet which they will. There's only 7 points in it and everyone's acting like it's over already. It's as if no one's ever seen a premier league contest before.

I think that Chelsea are still in with a shout - they have some great attacking players and if Torres can find form they will do well - Rafa is not a bad manager and I think the fans will get right behind him if these results keep coming in

I just dont see chelsea as title challengers. They do have some great players but for them to win the league they need two things to happen. Firstly they need to put together a fantastic run and probably only lose 1 game at most from now until May. Secondly they need both Manchester clubs to have some really poor games. I just cant see BOTH of those things happening.
Sure, Utd fired the league away last year with that run in, but i don't see that happening again. As Pete says, City haven't even looked like a team yet, when they click someone will get a beating.
