Premier League 2012/13 Discussion Thread

Love this

Especially the quote at the end

"Butcher will live forever as a shining example of how an Englishman should most appropriately deal with an open head wound."

Can't help be feel them missed Stuart Pearce's most impressive feat. He's the only man I have ever known to try and run off...................a broken leg!

He was at West Ham, and the Phsyio was there waving his hands at him telling him it was ****ed and he should come off, and there's Pearce jogging/limping up and down the touch line trying to run the thing off and at the same time get the ref's attention so he could come back on. One of the most impressive/bravest/stupidest things I've ever seen.
I THINK he got back on as well, only lasted a few minutes, but it's more than I woulda lasted!

This tickled me - although is probably un-PC these days

BBC Website - first headline

"Gay footballers would be accepted - Gareth Southgate"

BBC Website - second headline

"Lambert rejects Bent speculation"

Yeah Chelsea are ****ing themselves this season. They have pretty much the best midfield in the league and a pretty decent defence when David Luiz is not in it but there stubborn reliance on affirmed 'has-been' Torres and the fact that they have no one to replace him having not strengthened in that area is royally screwing up their season. On top of that to fire RDM and bring in not only a manager who has been out of the game for several years but one who is despised by Chelsea fans wins the award for shoot-yourself-in-the-foot style dumb-ass move of the season. I'm not even gonna start on why he decided to drop Mata (chelsea's best player by far this season) for his first 2 games in charge. What a tool!
All i can say is as a Tottenham fan i am thrilled. I didn't think we had a chnace at top 3 this season but turns out... we do. :D

Dortmund's manager. In fact we should take half their team.

The thing with Wenger is that he has got more and more stubborn, refusing to change tactics, team and style and it is becoming more of a control battle. The greatest manager we've ever had but he has overstayed his usefulness.

From an oursider looking in that seems harsh after all Wenger has done for Arsenal? And who are you gonna replace him with? :?
Stop living in the past mate. In 7 years, he has done nothing for the club, except sell our best players and replace them them with (a couple of exceptions) shite.
Thanks for what HAD done Mr Wenger...................................TAXI!

As completely impartial (I'm a Villa fan - oops) it does pain me to say it but how can Wenger stay now?

I still admire the way he tries to play football but he has to realise that the players he has now are nothing like the 2 great squads he built about 10yrs ago. Shame really as under Rioch, Arsenal were going nowhere and the success he brought the club was brilliant but he should realise that this season has shown him it just isn't working anymore

Trouble is, everybody else is trying to move forward, and Arsenal are happy to stand still. I mean FFS, I read in the paper this week that Wenger said it's going to be a challenge to accomplish his 'dream of a top four finish'. WHO DREAMS OF FINISHING FORTH!!!!!!!!!!!.

Fair Point Guys :)

The Last nail in his coffin will be defeat to Bradford in the Carling Cup

Well Done to the Lads at Alfreton Today too. A cracking atomsphere and to score twice hit the post three times they did not disgrace themselves 8) in a 4-2 Defeat to Leyton Orient in the cup
