Correct he is good for the business

It's not looking good is it? But I still wouldn't put top 4 and even finishing above Spurs past them, as I have already posted previously they've done it at the last minute several times before contrary to Arsene's memory. I actually thought last night rather than Arsenal being crap Palace were just really good (apart from the penalty obviously but on first view I thought it was a good call too.)

Arsenal have categorically had it this season IMO. Everton look like they will finish above them at the moment and there is 0 chance of them finishing above Spurs this season.

Watching them at the moment the FA Cup semi final could get embarrassing for them as well, with the way Man City play and that big Wembley pitch. :?

As I said to an Arsenal supporter and friend last night though as a Man Utd supporter I have absolutely nothing to shout about either. :D

Yeah, snap. On first view I thought it was a penalty, replay showed a clear dive. But I thought Arsenal were poor. Very very flat.

I agree with you there. Arsenal look like a psychologically broken team. They have no chance of making the CL, and I actually think it will do the club good not to be in it. Assuming they wake up and smell the coffee and don't just stick their heads in the sand and expect to back in a season.

United will win the Europa League and sneak into the CL that way. Though they REALLY don't deserve to be in it. Look at that squad and tell me should they be sitting in 6th place in the league, especially given the money they have spent. They have a stronger bench (assuming everyone is fit) than most other sides in the top 6/7. I would slag off the football they are playing as well, but Jose has never played a style that is good to watch. Effective (normally), yes, but good to watch, **** no.

Well that's just made it a lot more interesting! Spurs now definitely have a chance and even City or Liverpool could mathematically win it still if Chelsea had a few bad results. Not saying it's going to happen, but it's great to see it wide open again.

Yeap. I still fancy Chelsea to win it, or Spurs to do a Spurs and find a way to **** it up. I can't see both of them dropping enough points for City or Pool to nip in.

Great result for Utd. The first goal did have a large baring on the outcome and I can understand Chelsea being aggrieved by it. I think it's one of those decisions that when it goes your way you know you have been a bit fortunate, and vice versa when it goes against you. Utd deserved the 3pts though. Chelsea were poor.
Manchester Derby in ten days could be interesting.

On another note, my favourite player, Alberto Moreno. You have an unguarded goal with the only 2 defenders between it and you both closing you down, the keeper is 25 yards behind you and not making any effort to get back, on your left you have Daniel Sturridge, a man made of chocolate but a great striker, on your right you have Roberto Firmino AND Emre Can both of whom have had a bloody good game. All three players are totally unmarked. The question is, do you pass it left to allow sturridge to walk it into what would effectively be a totally open goal (given the defenders would have to turn and try to catch up with him), or do you pass it to one of the two players on your right to let them walk it into the same open goal? Heck you could even knock it between the two defenders coming at you and run on to the pass yourself. OR you could shoot from 45 yards and miss
****ING RETARD!
I don't like the guy and after his "efforts" in the Europa League final last year I will never rate him but **** me that was woeful. It didn't cost Liverpool but it could have and I hope Klopp ripped him a new one and learnt his lesson about playing the twat.
If you find yourself considering playing Alberto Moreno, go get some electrodes, attach them to your genitals, stick the other end in a plug socket and turn it on. After the hospital discharge you, just look at twiglet where your knackers used to be and remember how ****ing stupid an idea playing Moreno is.

Thought this might be the day Spurs' get some long overdue good fortune, but not to be. Definitely the better team today IMO, gifted Chelsea two of their goals (nice one Son.) The fourth Chelsea goal was one in a million. And that Harry Kane 'goal' at the end that somehow spun back out of the net... well, you couldn't make it up.

If it wasn't for watching the Norwich v Brighton game last night where the Brighton keeper scored two own goals by the ball coming off the wordwork and hitting him on the back, I would be feeling very hard done by. What's the odds of losing 7 FA semi cup semi-finals in a row? About the same as a keeper scoring two own goals.

So what do you think about tomorrow's game? It's a tough one to call, contrary to today's game where both teams are in good form, both City and Arsenal are struggling at the moment so I don't think it will be as entertaining a game. Of course I'm going to back Arsenal to nick it though.

I only saw the secnd half of the Spuds game, but they looked to be the better side. I think it was one of those games were it just wasn't their day.
Losing 7 FAC semis in a row is a bizarre though.
Still, spuds r a team headed in the right direction.

As for Arse and city, i fancy city. Arsenal are just a broken club, but you're right neither is exactly on form at the moment. Sometimes games like that can be great to watch cos both sides make so many mistakes, mother times they can be dire.

Ohh and Benteke to score a hattrick against pool.

I agree Spurs were the better team and I was genuinely gutted for them when the 4th Chelsea goal whent in. Although you have to give some credit to Chelsea, if Spurs had been as clinical as Chelsea Spurs would be in the final.

As for the the other semi final, I can only see a City win and comfortably at that. How many times have we seen Arsenal choke in big games like this, can't remember the last time they beat another top side when it really meant something.

I want Arsenal to win (obviously) but if we do it's just more papering over the cracks and an opportunity to confirm we have Wenger for another 2 years. I will always be grateful for what he has done and i know the grass isn't always greener but we desperately need a change of manager, change of wage structure and rid of about half the squad.

Arsenal beating Chelsea 3-0 earlier in the season meant something.

However, I was gutted Chelsea won today. Spurs bossed the game but Chelsea are clinical. I don't think Spurs were unlucky, they defended poorly and were not focused at the back.

Obviously I want Arsenal to win tomorrow but I think it'll be a case of the team with most strikes on target will win. If Arsenal win the cup it is just papering over the cracks yet again. If I had a choice of Arsenal winning the Cup or moving Wenger on... I'd take the latter.

Yeah, sums it up well. Much as I like Arsenal, the club is going backwrds and has been for quite a few years. Sadly, that will only change when Wenger goes. I think long term, losing today and missing out on CL, assuming that means Wenger goes, will be in the best interests of the club.

Predictable. Not quite as interesting as yesterday's game (apart from the completely wrong disallowed City goal) but a very similar result, the team with far less possession winning on the counter attack. Seems to be the modern way of winning a football match. Boring to watch but I guess it grinds the results.

Great prediction by me, completely wrong!

I agree a lot of teams win now with the counter attacking style.

Some ridiculous news articles today about yesterday's game. I keep seeing the word "masterclass" about Conte's tactics as if they gave Spurs a hammering. I really don't think the final score reflected the game at all. I'd say Spurs were the better team for all but the first and last 10 minutes. Leaving Hazard and Costa on the bench was a massive gamble and would have backfired spectacularly if not for Son's gift of a penalty. Before the game everybody was saying that if Chelsea lost Conte would be hounded for leaving those two out, the fact he won doesn't make him a genius.

Yesterday was a day of solid football watching for me. Started with the Old Firm, **** me that was shite. I knew the SPL was poor, even compared to what it was 10 years ago, but Celtic beat Rangers without even getting out of second gear. I actually feel sorry for Celtic. If that's the best opposition they face week in week out how the hell are they supposed to raise their game for CL games? Marking a 57 year old Kenny Miller one week, and he is one of the better SPL strikers, and then trying to shackle Messi, Suarez, Neymar or Aguero the next, no chance.

Then it was on the second FAC semi. I only saw the first half but **** me that was shite. If you had obscured the colour of the shirts I would have struggled to tell it wasn't still SPL. The first half hour was less entertaining than a porno starring your own granny.
I think it got a bit better in the second half and ET, I half watched it on the Ipad but still, for two sides who have aspirations of the CL that was some dreadful football.
Arsenal win, if they fluke past Chelsea in the final, and having seen bits of both semi's the two sides in the first where head and shoulders better than those in the second so it would be a fluke, then Wenger will sign his new contract and Arsenal will get two more years of slow lingering decline. The win was a great result for Arsene, but it could well be a terrible result for Arsenal FC. Though I suspect the Spurs fans won't mind if Wenger continues to kill the club.

I then made the mistake of watching Liverpool Palace. ****ing hell. If the first two games were bad this was just depressing. Liverpool with all the possession, and tonnes of lovely slow sideways and backwards passing, add in a bucket full of shots from distance and the obligatory comedy defending and you have the perfect recipe for Pool against a bottom 6 side and a Palace win. Not sure I'd go as far as saying Palace 'deserved' the 3pts. They really didn't offer a lot. BUT they did take their chances and Pool didn't create much in the way of clear cut openings so I can't begrudge them winning. Jurgen Klopp does have some massive issues to sort out. Against the weaker sides Pool need to speed up the passing not slow it down. They also need to realise that if you don't mark the other teams CF then there's a ****ing good chance he will score. It's really not rocket science. For the record there are no worse sights in football than seeing Fat Sam smile
Ohh and as for Liverpool's decision not to buy/loan anyone in January. Genius. Pure genius. Look at Liverpool's bench yesterday, Karius, Gomez, Grujic, Moreno, Brewster, Woodburn and Alexander-Arnold. That wasn't Liverpool 'giving the kids a chance' that was the best bench they could name! Ignoring Karius, he's a keeper (and ****ing shite), it's an indictment of the clubs recruitment policy that the "best" sub you have is the worst left back ever to play in the PL and the rest are a bunch of virgins. I've never even heard f Brewster. Sure, they may have bright futures ahead of them but this is a PL game at the business end of the season and Liverpool effectively have 11 players to pick a team from and then some kids.
Sure they have an injury crisis, apparently they have 3 more players out than Utd, but even so, no side with serious CL aspirations should be fielding a bench like that. How can you change a game when you have nothing but a few red raw teenagers to buck on?

Rant over.

Now for El Classico. ****ing hell, what a game. The rest of the day had me swearing at the TV because of the level of dross being dished up, these two sides showed exactly how a game should be played. Pure quality. Liverpool weren't in the same league as either of these two (not literally obv) hell, Liverpool weren't even playing the same ****ing sport!!
Glad to see Barca win, I despite Real as a club and they do seem to like employing some of the biggest wankers in football, Mourinho, Pepe, Ronaldo and Ramos. The latter of whom put in a shocking two footed "tackle" on Messi and was rightly red carded, yet still felt the need to say the Barca players had got him sent off by talking to the ref? Look up the tackle, it is the definition of a red card.
Ohh and apparently that was his TWENTY SECOND red card in his career!? TWENTY TWO red cards? If each one came with a 3 game ban that's 2 whole seasons he has been suspended for!?

Almost! Surprised by that result but obviously you're not.

That was a cert. It's Liverpool's "defence" and an ex player returning, playing for a bottom 6 side in a game everything thinks Liverpool will win.
