Yeah, although really, it's between 3 as Villa are gone. North East derby next w/e is massive, if Newcastle lose that they in deep deep ****.

Yeah very true Villa are gone. I wouldn't be happy if I was a Villa or Newcastle fan, big clubs with a big fan base, how can the owners make such bad decisions to get in this situation, Newcastle have spent a bit as well. I hope Sunderland stay up as I like big Sam.

Villa have been sinking for years. The owner wants to sell and isn't investing any money. In fact, i think he's taking money out. That only leads to one thing in football. I do feel sorry for Villa fans. Absolutely the worst year to be relegated as well with the new tv rights package next year. The mess Villa are in it will be a long time before they come back up and when they do they will be playing catch up, massively. I think their days of being a 'big' PL regular are gone forever.

As for Newcastle the blame lies solely with Mike Ashley. The man is a control freak and is killing his own investment by meddling.

Ehh I'm sorry, you WHAT?
Fat sam!? The most arrogant tosser in a league full of arrogant tossers? I bloke who thinks he could manage Barca or Real easily, all whilst playing football straight out of the early 90's! You remember how successful England and English teams were in the 90's? All those European trophies that flooded in once the ban was lifted!? Aimlessly hoofing the ball into the box is a horrible way to play football and that tosser genuinely believes his sides play good football.

Fat Sam is, and always has been, a horrible (fat) smug prick who thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. I like Sunderland as a club, but I hope they go down so we don't have to see his face any more.

Ps, fat Sam's such a good manager, look how WH have struggled this year, now they are actually allowed to pass the ball shorter than 80 yards

Couldn't have put it better myself

David De Gea one man team.

Everyone goes on about this and I agree we would be in evan more trouble than we are now without him, Van Gaal would be out of a job for a start. But last night all the saves he made you would expect most keepers at that level to make. He only has to catch the ball and the commentators go on about it for 10 minutes.

The one from Coutinho, I thought was amazing on first viewing. On replay, why the **** coutinho didn't use his other foot and blast it in I'll never know. The save from Lallana's header was pure instinct. But then is that credit to the keeper for reacting and being in the right place, or is that just him doing his job? I'd go for the first one personally. Put it this way, had that been Mingolet, it was a goal.
The Sturridge chance was a good save. Not one to get you writing home to tell the folks about it, but added to all the other saves he made, the boy is a class above the rest of his team mates. He was probably 7-8 out of ten last night. I'm struggling to think of another Utd player who would have scored more than a 4.
Take him out of that Utd team and they are bang average. And I mean a bang average PL team, not a bang average Man U team!

Now watch them win the second leg 6-0

Ohhh and Dortmund look bloody good. They would destroy either of those two sides.

Go on then lads, my soul is prepared.....stick the boot in

No shame in losing to that Barca side. They are something special.

I was talking to a few mates before the game and I said it was actually a 'lose lose' game for Arsenal. They were never going to win by 3 goals and get through. Obviously if they lose, they are out. But if they drew or won (but not by enough to get through) Wenger would spout off about improved mental strength and massive potential in the squad etc etc. they'd then go on a run of 5/6 unbeaten before losing to Villa or Sunderland and end up scraping 3rd/4th spot. At which point Wenger will talk about the potential in that squad, he'll buy no one and the whole cycle will repeat itself.

The best result for Arsenal's long term future would have been a proper hiding, and Wenger getting his head out of his ass and leaving. The Board actually growing a set and booting him out. That club has been stagnating for ten years now and he is the cause of it. He really needs to go.

PS, I say that as someone who quite likes Arsenal, the way they are run and the style of football they play. But, it's getting ****ing monotonous now. Flatter to deceive, choke, go on a run, talk about progress and repeat. If it pisses me off I don't even wanna know what Arsenal fans must feel like.

Ohh and Danny Wellbeck is NOT a CL standard striker.

I agree with all of that although one last bargain appears to have been found in Elneny for 5 million.

Still, you can't just add him and a keeper (no matter how good) and expect to progress when those around you (Leicester aside) are spending hundreds of millions.

Been on this forum a while now and not previously noticed this thread... Mind you, if we don't win a game soon, this thread will become an irrelevance to me next season!!!

Have fun!?

Ps, Utd are ****ED when De Gea goes. Put any other keeper in nets for those two games and Pool's score is doubled, or more. Amazing keeper.
