If it had been Everton v Liverpool than yeah I would have struggled to watch it but it was a tight derby which kept me interested from a Man Utd supporters view point. Bit like the 96' FA Cup final I enjoyed that as well. Thing is with Rooney he's being picked because of his name, yesterday I would have kept Mata on and taken Rooney off. Fergie would have sold him the season he retired if he had been staying on as manager.

The Manchester games was a Dad's Army v Dad's Army with some young ones ready to break through. Martial looks promising but some of the hype around him is just bollocks at the moment.
And it suddenly looks like Kane is world class again. He needs to produce it consistently against the top teams to fall into that category.
Sad to say that I don't think any English player is deserving the award of world class at the moment. Arguably our best player is a bloody goalkeeper.

Not bad for a player that didn't even start playing regularly until about November. and many of those were against the top teams, which as a Gooner you should know
He's had a dry patch for the last couple of months but if you've watched any of the games he's had no shortage of chances, just some bad luck. I think he's easily the most promising young British player at the moment.
I still find it hilarious that Soldado is joint bottom on that list above :lol:

The same was said about Chris Sutton after 1 season. Then look what happened to him. He had a good season last season, but I honestly haven't seen that much from him to say he's up there with the best.

The Manchester Derby was awful - just a case of two teams not wanting to lose and cancelling each other out. Arsenal proved that you can beat Man U with attack but I don't think that City have those sort of players in form at the moment - Sterling and Toure were awful
Bit harsh on Rooney as well - he doesn't have the pace anymore but he reads the game better than most and his defensive tackle certainly stopped a goal
I've said it before but I think the standard of football in the Prem (and to be fair in the rest of Europe as well) is pretty low at the moment - the fact that no-one has gotten close to Ronaldo and Messi for about 4-5 years now shows that world class players are just not coming through right now - although I do like the look of Martial
As for England - I think the lack of expectation around the team at the moment can only be a good thing - for me there are no stand out teams in Europe at the moment - obviously Germany, Spain and Belgium are strong squads but none are stand out and for me we have as good a chance as any

Really? Have you watched him this season! Utd's attacks all fall apart when he gets involved. He slows everything down and gives the ball away so much. Every time I've watched Utd he's been one of their worst players.

Spurs were robbed there, Arsenal were pathetic for most of the game. I love the way the commentators kept excusing Arsenal for being tired due to their Wednesday night game, no mention of Spurs playing on Monday and Thursday this week :lol:

Just have to say as a Man Utd supporter, if Wayne Rooney starts ahead of Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane it's a joke. :roll:

They have also been unlucky, all clubs have a bad run at some point, but Jose should be more humble about it. But yes knowing Spurs's luck, they'll be back to their old selves just in time for our meeting. I'm not counting on wins against the likes of Chelsea anyway, like I said ages ago Spurs have already fluffed 4th place, come May it will be the 6 points dropped from the early Stoke, Swansea and Leicester draws that decide it, I guarantee it.
Leicester top of the table, who'd have thought! I wonder how long they can keep it up. Not convinced they'll make the top four personally, it's not unusual for lower clubs to have an amazing start and then tail off (eg West Ham and Palace in recent years.)

Who would have thought Man Utd v Leicster would be a top of the table clash in late November. I can't see them finishing in the top four, perhaps top half, it can go wrong so quickly for a side like Leicster, but then again I tipped them to go down. I'm a bit concerned about Liverpool putting another title challenge together after the City result. :?
I'm a bit concerned about Liverpool putting another title challenge together after the City result. :?I still stand by my prediction - top four will be City, Chelsea, Utd and Arsenal. not necessarily in that order, but that will be the top four. It's early days so Chelsea are only 10 points from the top spot, and their bad luck run can't last forever, no matter how much you hate them they have the best manager and a solid squad. Leicester have pretty much secured survival but I am confident will not be able to maintain this form. Utd are boring but looking pretty hard to beat. As usual Spurs and Arsenal will be tit for tat until the last week of the season, and then Spurs will blow it/Arsenal will fluke it.
Sounds like Spurs looekd pretty good yesterday. They have a decent shot at a top four spot this year, although a lot does depend on Harry Kane not getting a serious injury.
I think there is gonna be real competition for top four this year. Any one of 6 or 7 sides could get it.

From memory their next six games are pretty horrible, so we should have a better idea how they are gonna do come Jan. it would be nice to see them make CL, but I just cant see it.

You're only holding midfielder (cazorla is not a ball winner) is injured until at least next year. With Arsemal's medical staff that could well be 6 months! Much as I love watching Arsenal and like them as a club, Wenger really is his own worst enemy, and he hamstrings them every single season. I would say this could be the start of their annual fall away from the title race, but I think they have 3/4 easy games coming up, luckily for them.
