Palitoy 30 Backs

Thanks for the info Gray. I've added those 20 back 30b's to the new matrix which leaves us with Greedo and Snaggletooth being unaccounted for on 30b's for the 20 back characters. The number of variations is now at 499!

No problem, though most people call me Gary

i've heard rumours of a greedo, but the source isn't as reliable as the others.

Personally i generally don't believe any of the sightings until I see evidence.

Have you done on your guide like John did on the first palitoy cardback guide, and differentiate between rumoured, open packaging and sealed?

Come on, Gary's a bit of a tough name to spell.

I've not differentiated between MOC and cardbacks for the updated guide. It's easier to manage and similiar to other guides like kellerman etc. For the uber rare stuff liek 30b's I take testimoney from known collectors as evidence of existence, otherwise it would be very difficult to fill in the gaps. I also have a few ?'s on there which means "reported but not verified", but they're more of a throw back from the original matrix which had many more of them.

Its interesting to know what has been seen and its obvious some of it is in very private collections. Mind you, I didn't really post on forums until about a year ago and I'd guess that theres a lot of Pailtoy collectors that don't (maybe they just lurk occassionally like I used to).

I'm hoping some of this stuff can be seen at some point in the future, even if the photos are posted anonymously on the SWCA for example. It would be nice to know for certain what has survived.

Some collectors will be very reluctant to show or confirm what they have as it opens the floodgates to all maner of hassles, but it is worth mentioning that the lists on the SWCA are by no means confirmation of existance either - at this stage anyway.

I suppose thats the downside to limelighting anything, you might start receiving endless offers for items you don't want to sell and you never know what dodgy characters are gathering info about what you have.

The lists on the SWCA aren't much use but there are some nice Palitoy pics here and there where people have contributed. The problem is its fairly disorganised and badly linked as some items, for which there are photographic contributions, don't automatically appear in the Palitoy section

That's being worked on, but it's a slow process purely because of the volume of stuff to work through. It's not just Palitoy, but wider, hence the problem.

I did see a Palitoy 30b C3PO for sale at a local collectors fair back in 1999, i think it was for sale at £160.00.
Still regret not buying it.
