I noticed that our friend white gloves recent Palitoy 12 back sales didn't happen this time around. Other than the couple of expensive faded ones which were never going to shift the other ones seemed fairly reasonable to me with the recent prices things have been going (especially the re-seals). I'm wondering if new people thinking of collecting these 12 backs are now staying away as half of them have become to expensive to buy if you can even find them or maybe collectors just want graded examples of the ones on offer at the moment.

The way I see it, if some of the harder 12 backs come up in good condition I'm sure they'll still go for a high amount due to long term collectors trying to complete their collections and also the shift maybe now going over to the 30 backs.

Any thoughts on any of this (it could even be just the time of year for all I know)?

Prices of some stuff are going mad. Recently there was a 12 Back A Han that went for nearly $1500 with a loose weapon, displaced footer and frosting still scoring 80 with AFA. I think all 12 Backs will continue to increase in value as new collectors are coming into the hobby and not enough of it to go round!! :D

Did anyone else see the price this went for?

Now that's a big chunk of change although the box is close to mint.

I think many collectors are sick of over inflated buy it now prices. It seems impossible to buy any Palitoy 12 or 20 backs for under £500 nowadays, even Threepio and Sandpeople.
Several 12 back Jawas have sold for £1000 recently.
I'd love to see them relisted auction style, 99p start and no reserve. Then we'd see some frantic bidding.
But I doubt that'll happen.

12 and 20 back are too far out of reach. For the price of one I could own several nice ESB cards. I've toyed about getting a set of reseals, but **** that. Just doesn't feel right.

I think some of the recent prices for even reseals have become out of reach for some although it's still way cheaper than putting a MOC set together.

As for MOC over reseal, I'm still happy I let my Kenner 12 back MOC set go and went for a Palitoy reseal set. It's just getting back some of my childhood that was important to me and I knew I had to do it once I held those first few Palitoy reseals in my hand and looked at that stunning Palitoy logo, it just suddenly felt so right!

Agree getting my Palitoy 20 back Greedo (although open/reseal) is more important than a Kenner sealed example. Palitoy logo has the memories and the magic for me

Several 12bk Jawas?
I only know of one 12bk Jawa recently going for £1k - and that was bought by someone on this board with no patience (he wont learn lol). The only other recent ones have been an open one (went for low 200s) and a sealed one (99p auction that went for under £400... probably a 70-75) just a couple of weeks ago.

Jawa's one of the more common Pali 12bks?

There was another Jawa that sold for £1000, pretty sure it was in the U.S.
Don't think he's hard to find, just in demand at the moment. Curious what the Palitoys selling today at Vectis will go for.
