Palitoy 12 & 20 Back Questions?

I sold a palitoy jawa late last year which was a UKG 85 with 90 subgrades and i got 2500 pound cash and an AFA 80 vinyl jawa with COA im only saying this as it might help with the current value of them the guy i sold this to a guy who was looking for it as he was close to completeing his set. I dont know how many jawas are in collections but you hardly see them come up for sale . Hope this helps Tony

so is the Palitoy Jawa one of these examples expensive but not rare?

It all depends on what you mean by rare.

Rare to my mind means there are very few in existence. From personal experience, the jawa definitely does not fall into this category. There are dozens of them.

In terms of availability, that is an ever changing thing. It seems currently people have noticed that there are not many Jawa for sale. This is because a lot of people are currently looking for one and haven't found it. This does not automatically mean it is rare. Palitoy has had a major injection of popularity of the last 5 or so years so people are have been buying things up all over the place, consequently there are fare few available.

Eventually many people will get bored, especially when they realise that a number of the 12 backs are very hard to find and will cost more than they are willing to pay, so rather than have an incomplete set, they'll sell up. And suddenly loads of the more common pieces will turn up again.

Jeepers, that's north of £3500.

I saw this piece in the flesh prior to "Darth Gulliver" owning it. And whilst it was beautiful, £3.5k plus????? Wow.

Hi

Just to clarify are you saying you sold a Palitoy Jawa 85 with 90 subgrades and a loose 80 graded vinyl Jaws for £2500 late last year? Or did you get £2500 just for the Palitoy Jawa?

Thanks

I think he means he was paid £2500 cash and given a loose graded VCJ in exchange for the Palitoy Jawa MOC

Well if anyone wants to sell me a jawa at the prices quoted, hit me up!!!!

I haven't been able to find one in a decent condition for the last six months. Previously there were a couple that I think are referred to in this thread, but they were out of my price range.

Well I put my money where my considerable mouth is but still lost out on this jawa below which went for £2600. Did anyone here get it?

Sorry, what? I had no idea who bought it. Wind your neck in.

Congrats Anthony.

At least I lost out to a member of this forum which is a consolation.

If you send him in for grading it would be great to see what he scores. That's what I was going to do with him if I'd won.

£2,600 on an open auction ,why this would make it a mugs price is beyond me ,obviously 2 people really wanted the same item.It happens all the time.
