New graders on the block,

As soon as your figure / figures have arrived here, a team from experts values the quality and authenticity, and the figure is sealed immediately and expertly in an acrylic case protected from ninety five per cent of ultraviolet light.

Protection and archiving

The figures are not only protected by sealing them in this way, but are also stored in our data bank and can be used as a reference point for all future transactions.

Not that i buy graded stuff (why would i?), but if i did i wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole! That sticker is so cheaply done i could go print one up on my house-hold printer in a matter of minutes. Could rustle up some GTG 95%ers in no time at all. ;)

I agree that the product sticker does look a little cheap and it must be really difficult starting up this kind of business.

I wonder how long it took UKG to become an accepted alternative to the AFA (not that it probably ever will be with some collectors)? I still can't imagine anyone from the states buying up just UKG graded items (as opposed to just AFA ones), but feel that if there's an item that someone's after at a certain grade then UKG wouldn't put the US buyer off now a days. They've been in the game for a while now and should be trusted unlike another grader starting up business.

Maybe there's a big enough German collecting community out there to make this work for them and who knows, given time they might end up getting accepted. I'm sure if any Palitoy 12/20/30 backs or VCJ's came up people wouldn't be that worried about who graded them. They might even have some original 45 backs that didn't come from Toni!

Yup, the Germans need to support them to get the ball rolling, once respect is earned people will take them more seriously outside of the country. A big plus for the Germans is a cheaper service (reduce postage charges) and less chance of loss or damage in transit.

Funny you should mention the TT's as one advantage they have over AFA & UKG is there will not be any Toy Toni GTG's

How are they going to tell Toni's apart from the real thing on German ESB 45 backs where Toni used the correct double stemmed bubble? There's very little to go on to tell those ones apart...

I wonder if they ever will actually take off, besides the few item they graded now.

The website looks like they really had no info to add whatsoever...

Won't work. Many have tried and all have failed. They will probably grade 30 items and then we will never hear from them again.

The only way to tap into the market and draw customers away from UKG or AFA would be to put some real $$ up front, get an amazing site put together (with a database that functions well unlike AFA's) then come up with some non tacky/great looking labels/cases and assemble a team of graders consisting of well known names in the hobby that people had confidence in.

All I see with these guys is a half arsed DIY kind of site and a shite label..

Absolutely. And really, it doesn't take a lot of money to get proper professional looking labels made. That to me would have been top priority. A real no brainer. The quality of that sticker really is a sign of the kind of quality service you can expect from the company. That is to say "half arsed and DIY".
Getting experts involved, while not necessarily easy can be done on a pro-bono, commission basis. I'm sure there are many German and european toy experts that would have been happy to get involved inn some level or another.
Then the "flashy" competitive web-site. Arguably the most costly part of the process (that and acrylic stock) tho still not 1000s of €s. Especially the amount of tech geeks we have in the community. Get one of them involved again on either a pro-bono agreement or swap toys. Most of us will do anything for toys.

No one's saying this kind of thing would be easy but either do it properly or not at all.

Me being dim not spotting the second link posted D'oH!, anyway after seeing the ebay listing I am shocked TBH, had anyone else picked up on the fact that the case is an Action Figure Andy slide bottom case?, wonder if its still open or if the guy is sealing them as not sealed would be a right no brainier, not even a top support for the card, just the 2 side supports & that label is a pure piss take, can't see them lasting 6 months myself.
