I don't like change! :(

I'm sure I'll get used to this in time.

But at the moment it's hurting my eyes!!

Yeah, I'm kind of like this too - sure it looks better on the phones but there is some definite 'eye hurt' on the laptop - not sure what is causing it and am sure they will adjust

Sorted. Let's move forwards.

Grumpy old men do tend to be resistant to change, and dare I suggest, we're well catered for in the grumpy old men department :p

It looks great on mobile, so I love it. (and yes, I include myself in the grumpy old man category :D )

I'm sorry but I don't like it. On an ipad I only get one or two posts before having to scroll, everything seems too big. It makes scanning through the topic lists a pain, and for some reason it's difficult to follow. Also, avatars should go back to the left - just my opinion, hope you don't mind.

Obviously this is a great site and the effort is appreciated, but I didn't really see any need for a new layout, the old one was fine (except for image resizing).

I think the poster's information and avatar need to be back on the left side.. feels like the page is back to front.

Yeah that does mess with my brain a bit as well if I'm honest

Yes, total agreement here - if it's possible the Avatars need to go back to the left side. I can live with everything else, but they just look wrong on the right side.

Certain themes/styles allow you to change the position of the avatar/user info details but not all of them, so don't get your hopes up. I guess the default position on the new look is on the right so it might have to stay that way.

I don't think it's terrible as it is though, just different to what everyone is used to but even so, I've been here since 2008 and it's only taken me a day to adjust to lol (quit your moaning all you 2012/2013 members  )

Similar to what I was saying. With avatar's and some signatures, I can only see one post at a time on certain threads :( makes it a little more difficult to read...Here's a screen shot as an example...yes, I'm grumpy

Moving the profile to the left is not impossible but will take some time so I'll have a go over the next few days. I imagine by the time I do everyone will complain it's not on the right any more

I think Joe is right, it may be 2008 since the last time the template has changed. It's long overdue from a coding point of view, smart phones barely existed then so there was no way of making that old template mobile friendly.

I've got to say I'm not a fan of this change and am finding it really difficult to read posts. I'll give it a proper go as I know change has to happen but this may mean the end of the forum for me chaps.

( oh and I'm not throwing my toys out of the bath water or having a pop but it's just a struggle to get my head around at the moment and I'm sure given time it'll work itself out).

This is how it looks on my iPad. If you have a small Android tablet it may be showing the mobile version.

Just saw this thread, was tearing my hair out on the iPhone thinking I have done something to the settings.

On my phone the forum is ace. This new interface is clearly designed for a mobile interface. It doesn't translate to PC as well however. Looking at what I'm typing the font is too small and is almost the same size as my phone font. There's also too much going on which bright areas spread around the screen. Perhaps try offwhite as the font colour?
Huge graphics in profile names and signatures aren't working well either.

I visit the forum on my desktop 99% of the time and it looks ok to me Rich? I think the font is a touch smaller than it was before but it can't be that much different as I am not reaching for my Mrs specs yet

About the sizing of the page, as Edd said earlier, the majority of websites can't actually cater to the huge widescreen monitors that many of us have at home which means that there is almost always blank spaces either side. While that was the first thing I noticed on the update (probably because of the star background) I'm quite used to it now and tbh I often resize my browser window a little smaller to be able to see multiple things on screen anyway (rarely have it in full screen just for a website).

Not tried it on my phone yet.
