Hey guys, got the paint brushes out for the first time in a while and created this. Ive included robots from films i enjoyed as a kid. Its a bit of fun but Iwould love a bit of feedback. Its not quite finished yet but almost. The photos dont really do it justice to be fair.

Chris :D

That's amazing Chris. Had no idea you could do this! What sort of size is it?
Love the inclusion of the Batteries Not Included robots. 8)

Lol. Thanks Pete. Yeah I don't do enough to be honest. Collecting took over a few years back.

It measures about 75cm by about 30cm. So pretty big. Loads of detail which can't be seen in the photos.

I used to love batteries not included as a kid.

Thought is get some ideas and feedback from people as I might do a few more.

Thanks again. Chris.

Yeah it look sawesome. Really vivid colours. I'd get working on your Star Wars graphic novel if were you!... 8)

Thanks stu that means a lot. I would definitely be up for doing a piece for your kids. Just tell me how big and what of and ill get on the case. I could do you a nice fett or r2 if you want buddy?

Chris. :D

No.5 is alive he would have toasted a few Stormies with some comical 80's banter.

Love it Chris well done mate! :D

Thanks for all the really kind comments guys. I really appreciate it. I finished it this morning and it looks alot more impressive in person I think.

There are things I would love to improve on it for sure but I think I may well get it framed up and give it to my brother who collects film related artwork and prints. He said he'll buy it from me but I cant be doing that to him.

If anyone wants me to do them something relating to Star Wars or a character then just say. Im slowing right down now on the collecting front so I would like to invest me free time in my first passion which is drawing and painting. I wont charge for small bits so gimme a shout and set me a brief!

Thanks again guys. (You will see I have included a close up of the mouse droid, 3po and R2 now.) :)

Chris.

Awesome work Chris good to see you picking the paintbrush up again!

PM coming!

Chris,

how do you do that, do you draw a pencil outine then colour it in? im shite at drawing unless its a cock and balls on a mates work log .

Bloody good Chris, might have to commision a piece for the kids bedroom 8)

my thoughts exactly

Looks amazing Chris, the style is ideal for star wars, when I saw the title of the thread I was expecting something more in the style of Rembrandt :)

Thanks again to everyone who has taken the time to comment on this as it has definitely spurred me on to want to do more. I will aim to produce something every month if I can. I already have a design brief from a forum member and I look forward to working on that.

In answer to the question about how I have done this, it is an idea that has been in my head for a while. I drew it out on 300gsm watercolur paper, then painted it with gouache paint. This provides a flat yey quite luminous look to the work. Finally I outlined the individual elements with a fineline pen. And yes the dots for sand took frickin ages! Lol.

Like I said, if anyone wants a character or something doing then just shout. I'm not buying for a while now and this will fill my time perfectly!

All the best. Chris.

Chris you secret ninja!!! I dint know you did this sort of thing!!! We have to have some serious talks my friend ;) I am thinking that would be an awesome addition to my living room- I have talked about getting some star wars art- I haven't seen anything that I would like to have yet- but this thread has changed that mate.

Fantastic work- I am so envious of this talent- my drawings are really really bad :( like four year olds are better than I am!!

Well done buddy- looks like you may have found a new way to fund your hobby ;)

I had a bit of a surprise the other day when Chris asked me if I didn't mind him doing a picture for me, of course I said yes and when it arrived I couldn't be happier! It's ****ing hilarious and amazingly detailed!

Check this out!

The amount of time and effort he must have put into this is beyond me- what a talent!

Will have to get it framed at some point, so I guess this officially makes me 8D8's bitch
