latest palitoy MOC prices from this mornings Vectis auction

Nice one with winning the Ugnaught and I must admit I'm glad that the seller didn't make any money on these MOC's.

I'm getting tired of seeing people just buying things up and then flipping them. It's just raising the prices for all the real collectors out there and it seems pointless to me spending big money on items like the three just posted and thinking that it's going to make you a pile of cash. I can understand doing this a bit more if it's a cheap deal but why bother gambling all that money on the chance it might make a killing (I've probably just answered that one  ) ?

It's a sad time at the moment to hear that some collectors are either thinking about getting out of the hobby or just stopping as they've been priced out of the market. I'm sure the bubble will burst before long and hopefully the people who really do love all things vintage will still be around to continue working on their great collections.

Sorry for the slight rant and I know the world is all about business but maybe with a few more stories about people thinking they're going to get rich quick and failing it'll put others off.

I've never really understood why Golddie does what he does, he did exactly the same thing with Trilogos a couple of years back. He was forcing the prices up on just about every auction he bid on, at one point it literally felt like no auction was safe from him and he was buying things up like a mad man.

It looked like he was just trying to complete a set in mint condition and he had money burning a hole in his wallet but then all of a sudden he must have got bored, listed them all on ebay and proceeded to make a loss on quite a few of them (he had seriously overpaid on everything from Ree Yees to Hybrids and beyond so you can imagine how his sales went).

You'd think after the Trilogo thing he'd quit..but no! He decides that going after Palitoy figures is a good idea instead!

He's made losses on figures that would keep me up at night if it was me..either that or turn green and vomit exorcist style..doesn't seem to bother him though!

It's certainly a strange way to go about business and it was interesting to read that he's done pretty much the same thing before.

Maybe you're right Joe and he just gets bored really quickly and has made enough money off of his Drum and Bass tunes to not worry about it

That ugnaught is a great score. Real good price. If your not sure about it I will give you your money back for it ;)

Why not post some pics in latest acquisitions. That's a great pick up.

Sure, I'll try to get some pics up in that thread by this weekend. He looks pretty nice, a very small corner crease in the top right and some other spider veins on the card, bubble is perfect. I think it'd probably score a strong 75 overall (75/85/85) if graded.

Got this guy recently off eBay. 41-back. £80! 8) was quite quite pleased when I got it, but didn't know the 41 was more sought after. I guess eBay does still produce some gems :) Well chuffed now!

Pics are now posted in the latest acquisitions thread along with some recent cardbacks I've bought.

Thanks,
