Latest Modern Acquisitions

So far (and I mean so far as I have to get the bugger back) it owes £295. I'm happy with that given what eBay shows one or two have sold for. It's such an incredible piece. It's so incredible that now, of course, I need a loose one to play with!

It was from a store opposite the Florida Mall turning. I believe it was Mike's Comics and Collectibles. I haven't built up the courage to ask if I'm allowed to go to Acme yet! Honestly, I really don't want to look anymore: I've bought so much modern stuff it's unreal. I even bought my first two 3 3/4" figures: Admiral Ackbar (an awesome sculpt and just blew me away when I saw the fish face) and Capt Phasma which I was shocked to see on the shelves. The comic shop had a Rey at $12 but I passed it up. Thinking I may need to go back and get her, though, having seen that it will cost me £15 in the UK now :/ I've also picked up a load of Elite die cast figures (awesome, awesome, awesome!) and a ton of Hotwheels (love the packaging art) but I think I'm going to have to return them to Walmart as I just don't have the room :( so cheap over here at £2.80 for a single character vehicle as oppose to the UK at £5.99! And that's WITH the crap exchange rate. Anyway, way too much stuff and will do a group shot when I get home :)

Simon, It sounds like you need to talk to Iain to find out the right way to send things you own back to your own home by courier/USPS etc without getting stung!

Is that comic shop worth a visit then as I'm out in Orlando in November and have scouted out a few comic shops to visit with Mikes Comics being one of them?

Did a trade on one of the facebook groups, got a luke unleashed and wicket figure, love the unleashed line of figures, I have a couple already, very dynamic poses

Having seen the movie, the little one was mad keen on getting a Kylo Ren figure. Picked these up locally cheap...Have to say, the sculpt on the figures is actually very, very good!

Yeah Mike's is definitely worth a visit. He has a huge selection of modern stuff and although I thought most of it expensive, in all fairness, the exchange rate sucks and I have very little idea about modern prices :D There was so much cool stuff there (I'm drawn to the modern bits that recreate the vintage style of packaging like the Vintage Collection and 3-packs) and lots of exclusive to Target, Walmart, etc. items. He's a nice guy although I didn't get a chance to talk to him much as he had a Diamond delivery in. I didn't even get a chance to ask him about vintage although I bet he has some squirrelled away.

Steve, met up with Iain over the last couple of days and he been brilliant in helping with my conundrum! Get some stuff posted to me whilst I'm in Vegas with work next month (will take an empty suitcase and bring back a full one!) and he sorted me out with some packing and boxes for the Falcon which will now be checked as hold luggage. But nervous about that but it's well packed and we only brought 2 cases out so have a spare allowance to use on the way home :)

love the han and luke, do they come with the helmets?
Finally my local asda had some stock in, not much and they were right at the top of the shelf, so Karen had to use a spare lightsabre to knock them down to me, lol, 9 quid each and the 6 inch phasma was seventeen, not a bad haul just glad to finally see stuff out in the wild

Major thanks to Iain Sanderson for helping me acquire this item.

I don't like using the item 'grail' for a modern piece as I've not travailed the misty lagoons of old kingdoms, avoiding seductive wenches and squiffy maidens on my quest.. I saw it on ebay and got someone to buy it for me.. but it is a hard figure to get and being a stingy sod, I decided that the last one I saw about 2 years ago which I lost out, I should not pass this chance up.. this was a BIN and worth it. There is currently a lesser quality one on ebay that came online just after I got this one.. I guess someone smelt the cash. Only realising that only a loon like me would spend cash on an item like this.

The figure itself is common its just the cardback. A canadian starburst Original Trilogy Collection (the packaging makes no mention to prisoner or slave). I have another hard to find slave leia card coming soon.. pictures will arrive when it gets here. Some of the prices of Slave Leia on ebay across all the ranges have sky-rocketed recently. Where I was picking up even the VC figs recently, they are being listed for crazy money. Maybe its to do with this myth that nobody is making slave leia stuff anymore..

yeah.. right. And if anyone is going to SDCC please get me the slave leia itty bitty exclusive for me.. :)

No idea why that decision was made, it does look cool,

However, the other regular cardbacks are great display pieces, as they have movie backdrops

Here's the Slave Leia regular one

And my ever increasing Rey collectable today comes from Japan

Hello group, I'm not sure if anybody has bought and posted about the 1'6 Hasbro TFA Tie Fighter.

When I came across it on Youtube although my jaw hit the ground the £180 price tag made me hold off but then about two weeks ago I saw that Amazon was selling them for £88 with free delivery so there was no argument!.

I have to say it is huge and where to put/display it is a problem

One thing I noticed is that the box itself was covered in dust so it made me wonder if they've been struggling to sell them.

My intention was to buy it and just store it in the attic for the time being but when it arrived that quickly went out the window!.

The Fighter Pilot figure is a little tricky to get positioned into the seat but with a little patience it does go.

This thing is quite simply awesome and although I haven't looked if they're still available on Amazon for £88 my advice would be to grab one while you can.

I'm personally waiting for it to come down from £88 as i think it'll soon be even cheaper! Also, i thought it was for 3'3/4 black series figures? I'm sure the figs you get in the box with it are only standard size?

great pickup, I've had my eye on one of these for a while now, just got nowhere to display it, lol they are for the six inch figures, check out the reviews on youtube, such a great piece
