latest film/ dvd you have seen

Another of my top 10 movies - The Doors. Watched it last night. It's a perfect film. Val Kilmer is Jim Morrison 8)

Not keen on Meg Ryan as Pamela Morrison or Billy Idol doing a bit role(why?), but The Doors is a masterpiece.

Great shout, outstanding movie and totally agree in the Meg Ryan casting, beautiful but not the best of actresses at best of times

Going to have to give guardians of the galaxy another shout out. A 21 centure love song to the 80's it may be, big loud and just a little stupid it might be but I haven't had so much fun watching a movie for a long, long time.

The film manages to fit in with the tone and universe marvel have so carefully constructed around their other offerings but beneath the brash big sets and fast dialogue there is a real heart here.

A must watch for comic book / marvel movie fans, and to be honest a real treat for anyone who enjoys a good new, old fashioned action, adventure film.

Bare in mind that these are my only criticisms of what should be a classic (if it's not). I wonder if The Doors counts as a 'classic' movie? Probably not enough of a fan base. The only reason i think Meg Ryan doesn't fit well is that she is quite sickly sweet and clean cut. The movie is quite dark in some ways and she just doesn't quite work.

Argo is brilliant. As is The Doors tho more so if you're a Doors fan. 8)

Really? I must have missed something. It's not a bad film by any means but i didn't think it was any better than a run of the mill.

Watched a live feed to the Globe theatre's performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Awesome.

Then watched How to train your Dragon 2. Ok - nothing special. Son enjoyed it. However, there were 5 trailers for other animated films and all were **** which is disappointing. The only one I remember was about table football guys.

Didn't know you could watch live feeds from the globe...as I'm a technophobe and thick when it comes to things like that...bet that was ace

Love Midsummer Nights Dream :D

My local cinema shows Globe shows about 3 times a year. It was stunning, even The Telegraph gave it a 5 star revue which is virtually unheard of.

I find that really odd. Surely the only way to enjoy a performance at the globe is at the globe. Its a great place..

Went to the cinema tonight, watched guardians of the galaxy
Wasnt expecting much but in my humble opinion it scores 10/10

Here's what I've been watching lately:

In the cinema:

*Inbetweeners 2. Very funny. If you enjoyed the TV series this carries on the fun
*Guardians of the Galaxy. Great fun, 2nd best Mavel movie after Avengers
*Planet of the Apes: very good movie. Interested to see the direction the third one will take.
*Transformer: I'd given up on this crap after the 2nd one. Friends wanted to see it, never again will I watch a Michael bay transformers movie.
*xmen days of future past: Rocked, loved it
*Godzilla: Not for everyone, but as a fan if the Big G I dug it.

At home

*Wolf of Wall Street: got the blu ray of this. Saw if twice in the cinema. My favourite movie of the year.
*Hobbit 2: I walked out of the cinema back in December half way through. It's a long movie and I just wasn't in the right frame if mind for it. Caught it on Netflix this week. It's okay, but it's very bloated. Love Smaug though.
*Machete Kills: again on Netflix, glad I didn't pay cause it's shite.

i very rarely go to the cinema as its so overpriced and i normally end up with idiots sat next to me talking the whole way through so im happy just to watch at home now, anyway ive recently watched....

wolf of wall street: really enjoyed it, lots of drugs and sex, 3 hours long though 9/10

american hustle: an ok film, was expecting lots of hustles but the whole film is just one big one 6/10

her: pile of crap, dont waste your time, jaoquin phoenix falls in love with a computer 3/10

thief (1981) michael mann who did miami vice, its no "heat" bit like a crap scarface with james caan 5/10

has anyone seen zodiac? i started watching it the other night but was too tired, it looked good from what i saw?

Watched wake in fright.....a 1971 aussie horror film that some how slipped on me love film list ...very bizarre 2 hours of me life I.ll not get back

Saving mr banks (hanks again.has he ever done a shite film) bout walt disney trying to make mary poppins

Cheap thrills .nothing great but still worth a watch
