My comment was slightly tongue-in-cheek and referring to the fact that we really haven't seen Pitt do much of anything in the last 12 years. Just the odd thing here and there and never anything as good as what he was doing in the 90s. Like Ed Norton he held a lot of promise in his early years as an actor but just seemed to lose interest or ability, i don't know.

I know what you mean Pete. Pitt was the best thing in films like Twelve Monkeys (for which he won an oscar!), Seven and Fight Club. Exactly the same with Norton - he did some great films like Rounders, Fight Club, American History X and even that one with Richard Gere where he plays a kid with multi-personalities. Apparently Norton is very hard to get on with in real life and his recent film choices have been interesting.... watched the Incredible Hulk again the other day and he is good in it, but it is just a shame the film was so poor

I've heard things about The Kill List, it looks interesting. I will have to download it this week and give it a watch.

Let me know when you do Pete A very interesting film

The one with Richard Gere was Primal Fear for which Norton was nominated for an Oscar. Brilliant film! He was nominated again, not surprisingly, for American History X .

Brad Pitt has never won an Oscar but has been nominated 3 times- Twelve Monkeys (1995), The Curious Case of Benjamin Buttom (2008) and now Moneyball (2011).

I stand corrected! I could have sworn I read that he won an oscar for Twelve Monkeys! He was amazing in that role, but after looking at who actually did win the oscar that year for best supporting actor, Kevin Spacey in the Usual Suspects, I suppose I can just about agree!

Have just seen two recent films which i found really good. Warrior and Adjustment Bureau. Wasnt sure about the 2nd choice as my GF wanted to watch it, but the story and acting were great

Saw these films this weekend...

Chronicle
Ghost Rider
Underworld
Woman in Black

All pretty good, though i think woman in black was my favourite. It the kind of creepy film I like! 8)

Saw the new Sherlock Holmes film.

It's not bad. If you like the first one you'll like this one.
Not a big fan of how Guy Richie/Robert Downey Jr have portrayed Holmes, far too different to the book for my liking. But if you aint read the book, you may well love the film.

Sorely lacking in female nudity mind!

**** me, had a few days off work recently (time oweing  ) and was averaging about 3 films a day :D

Recently seen:

Tan aquatic with Steve Zissou - good. I love Wes Anderson and The Royal Tenembaums is one of my all time favourites but the Tan aquatic doesn't even come close.

It might get loud - documentary with the Edge, Jack White and the awesome Jimmy Page. Very good documentary that was very much focused on the musical upbringing of the three and not just so much on their own musical achievements

Warrior - very good but not really in the same bracket as The Wrestler. Really liked this film but just couldn't empathise with the two main characters as much as you could with Randy the Ram. Not sure if it was just me comparing these two films when they probably don't need to be but when watching it I just couldn't help it!

Monsters - really looked forward to it but felt it was really poor. Again, probably my own fault as I was expecting too much but just didn't think it was that good at all.

Animal Kingdom - ******* brilliant. Absolutely ******* superb. Can't fault anything with it and the fact that it has Guy Pearce in it just makes it even better. If you can watch it then please do - I got it from Blockbuster on blu-ray for £5.... really can't go wrong :D

Wow! Sounds like a fun few days nick :)

Ps I love the new sig

I recently watched the strangers- liv Tyler. It was total *****. Zero plot- just half an hour of suspense and an hour of terror!

Liv didn't even get her baps out in it so it definitely qualifies as a turkey :(

I agree Nick. The film "Monsters" is ****. You only actually see monsters for 3 or 4 times in the whole film and the storyline is really poor too :x

Glad you agree Liam. I didn't mind the film too much but I was a bit bored! Thought it had some really good references, especially with America's foreign policy but who looks for that in a film nowadays :? The images of the "monsters" was really poor too I thought.

well, watched woman in black.

Its an ok horror, but as the story develops it gets dissapointing, they could have made it really good.

worth a watch but not worth a £20 day trip to cinema (which i didnt do fortnatley lol)

I have seen that too mate. Throught it was piss poor TBH. Did scare me or make my jump at all and I almost always when I watch a film! Although I am not a fan of horrors as a whole tho :?
