Well, for starters, too many holes to the story to begin ranting about, yet it's like a mix between the X-files and CSI, which actually is a good premise for a tv-show.
Love Walter to death, don't care for Olivia, although the other version of her is quite tasty
Didn't care for Peter in the beginning, because of Dawson's Creek, but he ended up being the glue that held it all together, and with the end of season 3 I just couldn't
understand how they could bring the show back for another season, too many paradoxes and twists unexplained.
And then season 4 began, without Peter, without any explanation on how they ended up building the machine, and Walters story, everything just went down the drain...
But then Peter showed up again, and the plot thickened.
Now I am just watching to see if Peter can put the timeline back to where it was, because the main plot of the show disappeared when he ceased to exist, feels like the episodes
are just fillers, just because they can

Just saw The people vs George Lucas, and I almost cried at the end.....
Haven't seen it? Do it, highly recommended, it is brilliant...

Watched that Sherlock Holmes film. It's ok, a decent enough way to kill the guts of 2 hours.
I didn't like the way they portrayed Holmes, it's a totally different person to the one in the books, but if you haven't read the books (or aren't a miserable bastard like me) you may well enjoy it.

Just finished disk 1 of Spartacus gods of the arena - what a refreshing change, lots of blood guts sex & drugs, sadly no rock n roll though :lol: quite epic & I really enjoyed it, high praise from one self confessed fussy git.

Good acting & excellent script 2, which is a bloody rarity these days - go watch it!

Can't wait for disk 2, though I was expecting a feature film not a mini series

You know they were forced to make this series as a prequel to Spartacus: Blood & Sand (rather than a sequel as it was going to be) because the actor who played Spartacus died. Hence no Spartacus in Spartacus: Gods of the Arena.

Bit ****** up (but they usually are) and depressing but a really good watch, especially as you get to see Kirsten Dunst's lovelies twice

Watched 'Super' last night. One of the best films i have seen in a long while. And i hate everything!
Basically, it's the same as Kick-Ass only slightly better and much darker. And i loved Kick-Ass.

Just watched Tucker and Dale Vs Evil tonight and... it's brilliant. As smart as it is silly and while non of the teenagers can act it kind of works with that b-movie/teen slasher theme and style it's trying to spoof. And the 2 leads, Tucker ad Dale are fantastic and give the film real weight and a much needed strand of believability.
Tho it never pretends it's not being silly it never goes so far into self-endulgent absurdity so as to lose you.
As i said, one or two issues with the lack of acting ability of the support, not least the main girl but it's not quite enough to matter.
Would highly recommend this and i highly recommend very little.

Also watched Moneyball last night. If you've not heard of it, it's Brad Pitts latest film (don't actually remember the last time i saw him in a "proper" film). I do always enjoy a good sports movie but after seeing the trailer and seeing how "talky" and "baseball" it was i was worried it might lose my, non baseball loving, attention but i needn't have worried. It gripped me from the first few minutes and didn't let up till the credits rolled. It IS very "baseball" but such a fascinating story and so well filmed and acted... (even Pitt!!, who was last seen "acting" 13 years ago in Fight Club ...) that you won't be able to take your eyes off it. Seriously, the 2 hrs flew by and i have a terrible attention span i can't usually even fini....
Sure, there are one or two moment of Baseball talk where i went... "er??... no idea what you're talking about..." but that's not really the films fault.
So another very rare recommendation from me.

I'm on a roll! After seeing Super earlier this week (admittedly, Super is an acquired taste and will be too wacky and self-indulgent for some but it appealed to my twisted sense of humour and it's SO violent!! ) this makes 3 good films in a row!!! I think i remember that happening back in 2001.... or was it 2000...

Brad Pitt was brilliant in Snatch. Think that came after Fight Club.

Pitt was amazing in Assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford which was 2008, maybe 2009 so he's been due!

Saw a newly released (on dvd) British film called "The Kill List" the other day - **** me, what a film. I watched it and the first 60-80 minutes were brilliant but then it turned into something I wasn't expecting at all! After it finished I was honestly scratching my head as to what the hell happened - it just turned into a film that I wasn't expecting. Straight away I thought the last 15-20 mins had ruined a perfectly good film but then I read an explanation online and it all made sense! Thinking about for the last 2 days and now thinking it is a very enjoyable film.
Pete, if you like your violence then you have to see this, mainly just for one scene where some bloke is tortured for a good few minutes

I must say i don't remember his performance in Jesse James (2007), it was a good film tho and i remember Casey Afleck's performance being excellent. Must watch it again. Pitt was quite good in Benjamin Button tho. My comment was slightly tongue-in-cheek and referring to the fact that we really haven't seen Pitt do much of anything in the last 12 years. Just the odd thing here and there and never anything as good as what he was doing in the 90s. Like Ed Norton he held a lot of promise in his early years as an actor but just seemed to lose interest or ability, i don't know.

I've heard things about The Kill List, it looks interesting. I will have to download it this week and give it a watch.
