Watched the new X-Men the other day. Enjoyed it a lot but for some reason didn't think it was anything special. Michael Fassbender as Magneto, I thought was terrific but I just couldn't believe James Macavoy as Professor X - whenever he spoke all I could think of was Austin Powers :lol:
Few other characters were really annoying but it had a good plot and decent effects.
To be honest it could have done with being another 30 minutes longer!

recently watched 'Population 436'. Quite a good film I thought, little bit slow in places.
Just watched 88 minutes. Those were 88 minutes of my life I'll never get back. 
I was rooting for Al Pacino to buy it all the time, but no surprise he got to stay alive at the end. :roll:

Saw it, liked it, but I also just saw Raging Bull and I liked that better.
Fighter was film of the year for me, absolute class.
Seen quite a few recently.
Hangover 2 - bloody funny and as good as first I thought.
Hannah - Good film, worth a watch.
Lovely Bones - disturbing film especially if you've got kids.
Just about to sit and watch Paul, heard it's very funny.

Just saw The Troll Hunter (Trolljegeren). Fantastic film! :lol: Josh you'll love it.

I watched Mary and Max today which is an animated film about an Australian girl who becomes pen pals with an autistic New York man. Brilliantly funny and sad at the same time.

I HATE that film. I very nearly walked out when they shot Hitler in that Paris theatre. I despise Hollywood re-writting history. Much as we all may wish Hitler died in a Paris threatre in 1944 (or whenever the film said he died) the truth is he didn't, and millions more people died before he finally did the decent thing. I just see films like that as sticking two fingers up to all those (on both sides) who died.
Mrs Ross does have fantastic tits tho!

Interesting! I'm a History teacher and I adore the film, purely as a film spectacle though! Obviously this film is all about Tarantino messing around a genre that he so loves to do so I suppose i've never thought about it like you have Wease but I can completely understand your viewpoint.
I like most of Tarantino's stuff apart from Jackie Brown and the Kill Bill's and I wasn't expecting to like I.B at all but as I said, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I WAS really enjoying it up until the end. It was quite a good and gorey (is that a word?) film. But, WHY couldn't he just have stuck with history and ended it with them failing!?

The Kill Bills were excellent films. Not as good as Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs but then nothing is. I've seen them each about 3 times now and they get better each time.
Inglorious was ok but i wasn't keen on the ending either. I knew what he was doing by "changing history" it was all a little tongue-in-cheek and meant as a fantasy moment rather than what actually happened but i'd rather they'd just kept things factual. Would have made a stronger movie in the end.
