And I was dragged down the cinema to see the Expendables this very fine evening!

Being a Villla fan I really honestly thought that my day could not get worse than it had already but oh was I so wrong

I thought the film was utter *****. To be honest, the only decent part in the entire film is a scene where Mickey Rourke nearly cries his eyes out and shows the rest of the ******* "elite" ( ) how real acting is done.

It really, really was cinema for chavs and teenagers. The whole ******* film was about "oooh, how do I blow this up???? Throw a grenade or create a new type of bullet that explodes air around it  " or "how else shall we kill a person???? Well, we've already chopped a guys hand off, then his mates head and then stabbed him in the chest and we've kicked a guys head off backwards so why don't we just set him on fire  "

I am fuming

What a **** day, although, saying that, I did see Disturbia today for the first time and thought that was actually quite good. Not as good as Rear Window, but then again not much ever is

I was actually thinking of going to see the expendables, and that Piranha 3D, maybe I'll just stick with the PIranha 3D now.

PS, Were Villa THAT bad, or was it a fluke result?

not sure Wease! I went the West Ham game the week before but couldn't go up to Newcastle. We had a brilliant game against the hammers but I really think it was because West Ham were utter *****! Not sure for Villa now for the rest of the season. Need to really get things sorted and quick!

yeah, to be honest i'm not that concerned as I just wanted it sorted out. Only thing that concerns me is Bob Bradley's club experience - I don't know enough about him to make a load of comments but I just hope his only experience of club management isn't in the MLS!

just caught good will hunting on freeview the other night ive seen it many times, great film 8/10 robin williams and mat damon are excellent in it. and to think that matt damon and ben affleck wrote the screenplay

Yeah Chasing Amy is quality. Kevin Smith's last truly good film.

Woah! What about Dogma???! Now that was Kevin Smith's last good film.

Never really liked Chasing Amy; nowhere near as good as Mallrats and definintely not as good as Clerks

NO not as good as Clerks, that's a classic. Dogma annoyed me. Rubbish ending. Fun first half tho.

Yeah I know what you mean about the ending but I just love the whole film, inlcuding Ben affleck :o

I showed it to my year 10 R.E class last Christmas in a double lesson and they loved it!

Went to see Piranha 3D, it's pretty much what you would expect. Totally realistic plot, fantastic script, top notch acting and cutting edge special effects. Actually, TBF the special effects are pretty decent. The rest of it is predictable and pish. The ending is awful..................................BUT it has lots of topless birds and a 5 min sequence with Kelly Brooke starkers so it's well worth seeing! :D
It's mindless entertainment, watching people getting eaten by piranha.

Also watch Alien V's Predator reqieum (spelling) on DVD last night. Pretty similar to the above, but without the nudity. If you're bored and you wanna watch a few people in some red-neck American town getting ripped to bits by a load of aliens and a predator it's the one for you. Definately the downward slope for that franchise, well until the latest film (Predators) hit cinema earlier this summer.

Nothing that good recently...

Date Night (2.5/5): I like Steve Carell, (Anchorman, 40 Year Old Virgin, Little Miss Sunshine all good) but this one is very light on the laughs and not very well put together. The story is weak and the set-ups are obvious and way too slap-stick.

Sky High (3/5): I actually quite enjoyed this bank holiday monday afternoon Sci-fi/Teen-com viewing about a school for superheroes. Quite clever in parts and a decent enough story to keep your interest but it is definitely aimed at a younger audience than me.

The Bounty Hunter (2.5/5): Not terrible but not great rom-com staring Jennifer Anniston and Gerard Butler. There are a few laughs along the way and story is decent enough. The main problem with this one is the lack of chemistry between the tow leads. Never been a fan of Gerard Butler as the lead/hero and this one does him no favours.

Kick Ass 5/5

Saw it at the cinema and I still think it is the best film i've seen at the cinema for years (bar The assassination of Jesse James by the coward Robert Ford and The Mist). I pre-ordered it off play.com months ago and as usual it was delivered on Saturday (2 days before the official release date - I ******* love it when that happens :D ) and so far i've seen it twice.

Really good film with an amazing soundtrack and personally I think it's Nicolas Cage's best performance (yes, better than Leaving Las Vegas). At one point I nearly cried and then when I watched it again I nearly did it again!

Grown ups, it's OK. It's a family film so not really my kinda thing, but there are a few laughs in it (which is unusual in my experience of Holywood "comedy's") and a few birds in bikinis, pretty routine plot etc though.

Took the wife to the cinema last night to see Devil. Always liked M Night Shyamalan (even the happening but not that awful one about the woman in the swimming pool  !) and I was looking forward to it and i'm glad to report it didn't dissapoint.

Even the mrs enjoyed it and she thought it would be a pile of ****.

Good story that stayed truthful to the premise that it had built up for the past 70 minutes and also another good thing was that it was all done and dusted within 90 minutes. Don't get me wrong, I love a good 3 hour film but its quite refreshing nowadays to see a film that's only an hour and a half long

saw 'The Town' last night. Really good film.

Not Ben Affleck's biggest fan by a long shot but thought this was worth a shot after the last film he directed, Gone Baby Gone, which also was a very good film. Good cast with Pete Posthelwaite playing a horrible bastard and Jeremy Renner who I haven't seen in a bad film yet.

Took the wife and she enjoyed it. Good amount of action and drama. Have heard it being compared to Heat which I can understand but I don't think it is as good but it definitely gives it a good go.

Expendables and Machette.. enjoyed Expendables much more than Machette but Jessica Alba is fit as ****.

Watched 'The Losers' last night. It's kind of like the A-Team with balls. Good fun but not to be taken too seriously.

I just watched Piranha, Some of the scenes looked quite realistic, only saw in 2D but it wasnt that bad

next time i go cinema though will be for saw VII

Just watched the latest Tron film.
It's ok, made as much sense as the original really.
The bird in it is stunning though. The missus was getting severly pissed off at me perving every time that bird was on screen.
