latest film/ dvd you have seen

New wolverine movie. Was dreadful. I don't know why I disliked it so much, everyone I know raved on about it. For me, the best part was the 30 seconds or so after the credits was the best part. That shouldn't be the best part for any movie!

I watched Wall-E for the first time yesterday. Was like a cross between 2001 and Bjork's All Is Full of Love video. Saying that I really really liked it and is up there as one of the best kids films I have ever watched (Tangled being my favourite) :)

I've heard good things about this. Tho i'm not usually into martial arts films i feel i must see this at some point.

I'm intrigued... i know Hara-Kiri is the Japanese word for ritual suicide so i'm guessing it's another Samurai film.

Watched a few films today:

Welcome to the punch - enjoyable but if I am honest the trailer is better than the film, great actors working with a very limited script. Don't be put off, it is a good watch but maybe don't expect too much.

The incredible Burt Wonderstone - light, amusing and sweet, very enjoyable in that offbeat comedy sort of way. Plus Olivia Wilde...

Finally got around to watching Killing Them Softly, very understated film, very much in the old school mob vain, plenty of violence with a lot of exposition in between.

Not sure why there was any ragging on the new Wolverine movie earlier, just watched it at the cinema (rare treat as the kids and wife are away for a few weeks so have some time to myself :)) and I thought it was good.

The story riffed on the classic comic story that tells of Logan's time in Japan well enough, the action was good and Jackman really is great in the roll. The story was smaller than others but I felt that worked well. The movie could have benefited from a bigger bad guy but as it serves as a mechanism for Logan to fight himself as much as anyone that is a minor complaint. For an X-Men fan this is a must see and for everyone else it is good fun, well made and entertaining.

As this DVD case with the title 'Gentlemen Broncos' slid across the works canteen table towards me earlier today, you can imagine the jibes from my fellow workmates.

But I'm a big fan of Jared and Jerusha Hess' work, and this was one of theirs I hadn't seen. Napoleon Dynamite? Loved it. One of my all time favourites. While this doesn't come quite so close, it's certainly in the same vein... and worthy of a second, and dare I say it (yes, I dare)... a third viewing.

The following trailer is very snappy (as is their inherent nature), the actual film is more of a gentle stroll... but you do take in more of what's around you when you're walking, than when you are speeding along the motorway in a V8.

"Your Mom's smoking hot... maybe if I play my cards right, someday I'll be your real guardian."

Yeah i enjoyed that too. Not on the same level as Napoleon Dynamite and at times i think it's a bit heavy handed and intentionally grotesque which it could have done without. A whacky watch for sure but quite an enjoyable one.

Olympus Has Fallen - Excellent action film with Butler & Freeman in it.

Oblivion - Cruises latest sci-fi flick, 2hrs and felt empty at the end of it, shame :(

Trance - Danny Boyles latest, it had to happen UTTER SHITE!!!!

Evil Dead - Someone please make a ****in scary film, please!!!!!

Watched Django laast night! Great one of Tatartinos best! 8) Highly recommended

Tarantino's best maybe??

Wow, no! Not even close! Good film. A lot of fun but not even a touch on Pulp Fiction. Or Reservoir Dogs for that matter.

Django

I watched this last night, I've got to say, Tarantino is a genius, but my taste, shies away from over doing it on the blood spatter etc, not a fan of blood and gore

Having said that I easily got past the bloody scenes, as this was one of the best films I've watched for a while.
The spaghetti western references, in filming and music were awesome, Jamie fox was brilliant and Samuel l jackson is ...well what can you say..brilliant
The humour was good, Christoph Waltz was fantastic, love to see more of him in films, he stole the show for me

Great film and well worth a watch :D
