latest film/ dvd you have seen

Just back from the new Tarantino film,That was mega overrated! Nothing really important happens for ages, most of the cast could've been played by anyone. I mean al Pacino, Bruce dern and margot Robbie there characters are just meh!

I was sat there going 'there better be a good payout at the end of this film where it all comes together' which it does to an extent but boy did the press overrate this film!?

I enjoyed it but not as much as I thought I would after the build up

6/10

Wow, what a difference to the people I've heard from. I've not seen it yet, but several of the people on podcasts I listen to have said it's amazing. One being Bill Burr. I need to watch to see why it's causing such a difference of opinion

Finished the Chernobyl mini series last night. Apparently it's the highest ever rated show on IMDB?! Can't see why to be honest, I mean I enjoyed it and it was quite interesting/shocking/sad etc, but the best series ever!? No way...

Same here, bored the crap out of me. One thing I can't get on with was everyone speaking in English. Completely ruins any realism people are claiming it has. That's just me

ALIEN 40th Anniversary

One night only at my local cineworld

Still holds up. Still suspenseful. I also noticed more detail in the ships interior and on model shots thanks to the big screen 8)

8.5/10

Did the same with Jaws about a month or so ago. Only heard about it via BBC podcast. They must have really cleared up the film as there was no grain. I don't know if I liked that or not. Like they was they cleared up Star Wars originals, but the despecialised ones brought the grain back.

Watched Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Pretty good, not his best work and without Dicaprio and Pitt I'm not sure it would be half as good. Worth a watch for sure.

Thought it was very well made and interesting to see 'behind the curtain', but agree it's never the best TV ever...

I know this isn't a film, but the Netflix series Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is one of the best things I've seen in a long time. They did such a cracking job of building upon the original movie and lore, updating it just enough but staying very true to the original. There's also a making of on Netflix which is well worth a watch and shows how much a labour of love this was for the entire crew behind the scenes. I think Jim Henson would be chuffed to see what others had done with his creation. I can't recommend it enough.

Agreed- thought it was fantastic. Surely they'll do another season, as it doesn't finish at where the film starts. There is still a lot to happen in between.

I am watching Xena the warrior prince at the moment from the 90s
