latest film/ dvd you have seen

I watched Robocop last night. I had seen it before, but probably not for 20 years so had forgotten most of it. I was actually quite shocked at how brutal it is, not just the gore but also the cruelty. OK it's not terribly realistic by today's standards, but I can see why it caused such a fuss when it came out. It's quite disturbing how evil the bad guys are in it.

Obviously not seen yet, but for any fans of the film Dark Crystal many moons ago, have a look at this 8)

Finished the Chernobyl mini series last night. Apparently it's the highest ever rated show on IMDB?! Can't see why to be honest, I mean I enjoyed it and it was quite interesting/shocking/sad etc, but the best series ever!? No way...

I've only watched the first 2 episodes, but agree with you. It's good, shocking how they delt with it and interesting. But no way is it the best series ever. Doesn't even compare to the A-Team or Dukes of Hazard.

Interesting article I read, Chernobly has seen a spike in Tourism since the series was released!!! Can you believe that! There is no way I would go any where near that place.

I was really looking forward to this series as soon as I read about it and for me it didn't disappoint.
True, I agree that it's not the best series EVER (discounting The A team and DofH  ) but it was only 5 episodes long.
To have the following that it had in only that small amount of episodes is quite a feat considering most series rely on word of mouth and that takes time.
Funny that you mentioned trips to Chernobyl, I was looking at a trip to visit there last year, there are many companies that offer these day trip from Kiev.
I was looking at interesting/different places to visit in Europe as we have had to refrain from long haul trips due to health issues of late, and this came up.
I thought that it would be a fascinating place to go and see as it was a very big thing at the time and has also been subsequently, what with the International effort to build the new sarcophagus that has just recently been completed, and this is only going to last 100 years before it needs to be replaced; truly an amazing feat of engineering to try to secure such a very hazardous place that will never be safe ever...
I can't understand why you wouldn't want yo go?

I can't believe they had any tourism in the first place to see a spike! Mind boggling.

I should say that it is no joke either the amount of people that have been affected by this, it is truly shocking and I mean no offence by saying you shouldn't go. :)

From what I've read you are "given" a radiation detector to wear, your not allowed to pick stuff up and time is limited in the "Hot" zones.
So it must be safe.... :?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to go, but haven't booked yet...

Incredable and you pay to do this. You couldn't pay me to go on it.

I recently watched 'Stan and Ollie'. I'm a casual Laurel and Hardy fan - I have the boxed set of their films and love watching them, but it doesn't really go beyond that. The film didn't disappoint, and John C Reilly and Steve Coogan really capture the essence of Laurel and Hardy. It's hugely respectful to them without being overindulgent or overly sentimental.

Watched The Great Wall, one of the worst films I have ever watched. Not sure what Matt Damon was thinking. Complete waste of time.

Watched the new Spiderman, 7 year old son loved it. I thought it was really poor. What is Disney doing? Probably the worst Marvel film I've seen. Shame as I was looking forward to it.

Missus found what I think was godzilla or godzilla vs mothra on TV last night. Utter toss.
What plot there was could have been improved on by asking a kid from a special school to rewrite it. It just jumps about and generally makes no sense, even ignoring the fact it was about godzilla.

Other than that all I've seen recently is "Justin's House" "Mr Tumble" and "teletubbies"

Mr Tumble is a legend, teletubbies are wrong. What about ''in the night garden''?

Mr Tumble is all sorts of wrong. That guy is the next Jimmy Saville. There's something seriously creepy and wrong about him.

Exactly what people said about Jimmy!

I met a bloke at a wedding who was telling me how he had met Mr tumble and he was supposed to be the nicest bloke in the world. All paedo's act nice, that's how they get past people's natural suspicions. Something wrong with that guy.

Recent flights meant catching up on a few older films:

COCO
Disney animated effort; actually a good story and a decent watch.

THE BOY WHO WOUDL BE KING
Ok, family fun I guess. Kids would enjoy it, just a bit to much English child acting for me.

CREED II
Shocked to say I enjoyed it!

AVENGERS AGE OF ULTRON
Trash.

SPIDERMAN - INTO THE SPIDYVERSE
Really good; fun and light hearted.
