latest film/ dvd you have seen

I actually agree to an exstent, once you get used to seeing the footage in colour and at the correct speed their isn't much substance to the film. I guess it's expectations really, I just watched it as a visual treat and didn't expect anything else. I have absolutely no desire to watch it again, although I will never forget sitting down to watch it when I did.

I've been meaning to check out "They shall not grow old" just for the technical reasons you guys have pointed out. I'm not surprised that he didn't have a new/fresh intellectual take on WWII but probably worth it just to get a fresh window into the past.

I've just finished a speed run of Game of Thrones. I'd seen none of it until about 3 weeks ago but the girlfriend started binging the blu-rays and now I'm done. Skipped season 1 and maybe every 3rd or 5th episode after that, (just because I happened to miss them and she watched them anyway) but I am unsurprisingly excited for the premiere which takes place during celebration. When you watch it that fast, the shift in style/tone of the show as the years go by is very apparent. They really do start to turn away from the extended war scenes and nudity around season 6 & 7 once they realized that they need to start tying up loose ends as the show was coming to a close. I presume that shift occurred around the time that the show caught up to George RR Martin's books.

This weekend I saw A Nightmare on Elm Street 1 and 2 from the good old 80s, I found them at a garage sale and I had not seen them since the 90s

I was surprised to see Johnny Depp as a kid in the first movie but his shirt in the movie surprised me even more

Nightmare On Elm St is such a classic, and ridiculous how young Depp is! I'm just watching The Hitcher (1986) with Rutger Hauer and C. Thomas Howell. Still as great as I remembered it to be, super tense and Hauer is bloody terrifying! :)

Thanks for the info about the The Hitcher, I have never heard about it, I like Rutger Hauer I think he is awesome. Now I also have to look after that movie

Last Night we saw Tai-Pan, we had never seen it before. But I think it was a really great movie, but the end could have been better, it surprised me a lot the end of the movie. Bryan Brown was really great in that movie as he is always in any other movies that we have seen with him 8)

Lego movie 2.

Shite.

If you like musicals, singing and dancing....it's for you. If you're heterosexual and over the age of 9, don't bother. The wee man enjoyed it but then he's 4 months old.

Really! I'm not surprised.

ALIEN 40th Anniversary

One night only at my local cineworld

Still holds up. Still suspenseful. I also noticed more detail in the ships interior and on model shots thanks to the big screen 8)

8.5/10

the last 2 weeks I have seen

The Mountain of the Cannibal God, with a hot and naked Ursula Andress 8)

The Boys from Brazil, what a crazy movie with some great actors and a lot of clones of Hitler

Saw Endgame yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it- thought it was excellent. Thought the first half dragged a little, though...

Just this minute finished watching Endgame. Was planning on a trip to the cinema tonight but it popped up on my 'tv' and the quality was too immense to resist! It's difficult to discuss as obvs don't wanna spoil it for anyone, 3 hours long, but strangely i didn't think it was as good as Infinity Wars. I'm such a big softy tho' i shed more than 1 tear but that's not saying much as i can weep for England when a dog dies on Eastenders! In closing, superb. If you havent seen all of the previous movies tho' i reckon you're about ****ed  Will be interesting to see where they take it from here........

Went to see Alladin yesterday, but was booked out, do saw Godzilla instead. Liked the trailers, but there have been some terrible reviews, so had very low expectations. Really enjoyed it! The spectacle was amazing - loved all the monsters. Yes, the plot was thin and it was a bit of a mess, but it was fun and exciting. My boys really liked it and they're super critical. There is a post credits scene for anyone going to see it.

The next one is apparently Kong vs Godzilla. I have absolutely no idea how Kong will last more than 10 seconds!

Watched Bomblebee, really enjoyed it probably the best Transformers film yet for me. The action scenes you can follow for once!

Agree with you- enjoyed it and was significantly better than the other tripe they've served up in the past. Quite liked the very first one, but since then, they've been abysmal. Liked the 80's soundtrack in this one 8)

Watched Bumblebee the other day and got to say it was a **** hot film.

Also Gotti with John Travolta-fantastic film.
