Latest Acquisitions

For those that are interested here are the pics of the potf baggies i have just picked up today.

The luke is only the 2nd i've ever seen, the Romba i believe to be the 1st.
The seals look legit enough to me, so i can only assume they originated from woolies 8 pks.

Both are minty 8)

Well done Del, I think thats 1 for the woolies supporters club and 0 for the rest of the world

Seriously, couldn't have been picked up by a nicer guy and into a more worthy collection , imagine someone ripping those up for loose figures or U grades without realising their importance! Glad you got there first mate!

Nice pick up Del

I have read numerous threads on the woolies baggies over the years whats the crack with them? I know they are tape sealed its just some of the US collectors seem to dismiss them completely?

Great to see this thread reach 400 pages!

Very nice Del, were they a dealer pick up or ebay?

Here you go Marc - http://starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=5697&start=0

He couldn't contain his excitement after blagging a deal outside of ebay :D

Once again Del, nice going mate! I bet the seller was happy to have his palm crossed with silver !(or was it gold??)

Well the short story is that the american baggie collectors believed these to be real until Billyboy and the fake proto baggies.
Bill had the only full set of these, and sold them on to other collectors.

Now everything that Bill has ever sold has been deemed fake. Which i can understand to a point, i bought 2 parker baggies off him and i don't believe that they are legit either. I actually opened 1 and it was definately a used figure  ..still thats another story

Thing is Bill was not the only source for these, some potf baggies (including these 2) have come from good sources and many european collectors remember getting them back in the day. I spoke to a guy who worked for palitoy and he said that ALL figures were shipped to them (palitoy) in baggies from all over the world, which would explain why you see a fair amount of palitoy baggies about.
The 8 pk's were shipped from overseas, not 100% sure where but did hear yak was possibly originally destined for canada. (which would explain why all Yak Face examples found have contained the weapon) to palitoy already sealed in packs of 8, which were then sold at woolworths who placed the 99p sticker on them. I had pics of a shipping carton, which contained 64 smaller boxes which each contained a bag of 8 random figures, these i believe would be destined for the woolies 8 pk. However i can't find the pic now and i also have a feeling it originally came from Billy, so i doubt people would accept it as solid proof.

@ Joe,

Well the guy had 2 offers. One for £25 and then mine so it was a no brainer for him really.

I didn't pay anywhere near what i think the ending price would of been had he not ended the auction, but at the same time i didn't rob him blind lol.

Dell, Your baggie collection is amazing. Do you have a full collection of all 96 figures.

Thank you,

Grant. 8)

Congrats Del. Those baggies look really good. Also, great to see some of these surface from another source besides Bill. It really helps support the theory that some of the Woolwoorth packs could have indeed come with POTF figures.

Cheers Guys,

Grant, yes i have all 96 plus some variations :)

Shawn, well the Billy fiasco really screwed Uk baggies over :?
I've been searching for these for about 3 years now, maybe a little longer.
I've actually now got a yak, A-wing, Lando general, Imperial Dignitary plus the 2 new one's make 6 . None came from Bill, 4 came via ebay from 3 different sellers & 2 came from germany.
I don't broadcast too much about them over on RS as its a like slamming your head against a brick wall with some people that i won't mention.

About 6 months ago i spoke to a guy (again in germany) that claimed he knew the where about of a luke poncho baggie, but threw silly figures at me, but then went silent anyway

Steve @ UKG told me that his business partner Mark has (or had) 1 or 2 potf baggies, and i know of a couple of european collectors that have owned a few.
Sotoam off scum has pretty much got all the figures that have surfaced so far, but most of these came from Bill which is why they got removed from the archive :(

There does seem a strong link with germany, i just don't know why.
