Nice one's Paul and scarfaceone, congrats on those Tri logo's! Leia Organa, now I ****** my pants.

Best regards, Thomas

I always love seeing all the gems here, and occasionally am happy when I have something cool to share. Been on a self-imposed buying freeze due to a family move and the fact that I still hadn't sold my old home and was carrying two mortgages....

But the timing was perfect that I had a deal in the works to sell the old home right as the Vectis auction was coming up (today I just signed the pending deal up in a formal contract, so am relieved), so was able to add a truly special one of a kind piece for my Han Solo focus. While four large head Han Solos have been found on a 12 back with 32 offer sticker card - which still makes Han one of the top three or four hardest to find on 12/32 - no small heads have been found to my knowledge other than this beauty:

Great item, apologies for my quite simple question but is a 12/32 a transition piece created by the addition of the sticker to the rear?

Not a simple question at all, my man. The 12/32 combo is relatively rare, so not all collectors know about it. Basically, after the end of the ANH line when the ESB figures were already on shelves, there was still some stock of 12 backs remaining. So to ensure that the 20 new figures released for ESB were advertised on this old stock, the new sticker was placed on the back. I can't recall if the sticker was placed in house at Kenner or sent to retailers for them to place on stock at their stores, but I believe it is the former.

Very unusual thing to have happened as at that point they would've been through 12, 20SW, 21SW, 21ESB, 31ESB and presumably 32ESB with all the back combinations in between - that being the case the in house solution makes the most sense as older cards already in outlets would simply be reduced rather than rebranded

Love the Leia Tri 8)

Not only is it one of a kind, but it's in terrific condition. Incredible piece - congrats man! Plus small head Han will always be the best Han in my book. :)

Paul

Not even close to half a full set unfortunately. I'm 20 short of a set of the basic picture variations but then there are these following drink and flavour combos:

Coca-Cola (Red logo)
Fanta Apple (Gold or brown)
Fanta Grape with all purple text (Purple)
Fanta Grape with purple/black text (Purple)
Fanta Orange (Orange)
Sprite (Green and Red mixed logo)

:?

When I said I had a set, I meant a set/collection as I had bought :)

pulsarp - nice bottle top haul 8)
scarfaceone - awesome trilogo 3po and great run :o

for me...

It's an open bubble but i didnt pay much more than a good cardback would cost. It comes with the gun and footer too.

Loving the diecast and Ewoks, that beater is ace!

That's a brilliant catch, I would have gone for that myself had I seen it :P

Paul

I've deliberately avoided this page for the last 10 days because it would just tempt me to go out and find something when I should be doing the reverse.

Having now looked at the last few pages I have had a revelation: I get as much pleasure from seeing other people's purchases as making my own. I guess that's because a lot of stuff here isn't stuff I'd buy myself but stuff that I had never seen before or would want but want other things more, if you see what I mean?

Where to start?? Frank! Those baggies, man. I would consider selling your body to medical science or grow another set of whiskers and sell them to the next production of Sherlock Holmes in order to keep all those. They are brilliant. Who's have thought a simple orange sticker could make baggies so incredibly cool. That Fett is outstanding!

Ross, holy ****, man. I have heard about 12/32 backs but never seen one. And what a way to bust my cherry. Small head Han in gorgeous condition and nice little price sticker as a bonus. Just awesome.

Paul: great bottle caps. They're on my want list but I will take the lazy way and (when buying again) wait for a full set. They look cool. Subtle plug for Sheffield Wednesday in your photo, too ;)

Rob, cracking 41 back, mate! Never seen a Leia Hoth on 41 before and it's more beautiful than I could have imagined. Love those little logos. Think you've helped me decide which MOCs I'm keeping ;)

Chris: a MOC for under a tenner is impressive whatever shape it's in. That has a charm almost like no other.

Carl: Nice Diecast, mate. I got one away from finishing the set but never got them on display. Shame as they make great looking pieces dotted around on shelves.

Loving the Trilogo love going on! Great to see these cards growing in popularity. Not least because I need to sell mine :D They really are brilliant and do think of all cardbacks they are going to continue their rise in popularity over the coming years due to their quirky look, frailty and lovely clear bubbles.

Awesome run of POTF there. If those bubbles were as immune to yellowing as Trilogos that would have been my focus from the word go. Sure POTF cards lost the look of the first three card buts I think they were beautifully designed and the coins are just so cool.

Sorry if I missed anyone. So much cool stuff in one thread can be a test of anyone's mental skills!

Glad you got that one Rob :)

My bid was well over what it went for :-) some of the other Palitoy mocs the seller had were reasonable too (LXW, Greedo, Stormie)

Wasn't going to let this one get away
