My eldest daughter and son in law came for lunch today and treated me to this lovely and unexpected present 8)

I've been helping my good friend build a little side extension to his house. I was thrilled to just have something to do, it got me out of the house and kept me from going mad on my own.

A couple of weeks ago I was completely surprised to get a package in the mail with a thank you present from him

I went up to help him again this weekend and was gobsmacked to receive another incredible gift.

They're all shrink wrapped and look like they were made yesterday. Easily the mintest items I have in my collection.

So thank you so much Scooternick for being a great mate and excellent present giver. My dream of touring the clubs as DJ Hoojib on the wheels of steel can finally now be a reality!

Finally got one of my grails in my Palitoy quest. Paid a lot for a cardback but it's more than worth it. Am going to set up a display with this but will not be doing a full on restoration.

Beautiful condition Canadian Madine to add to my Little Canada run. Popped up on Facebook about 3 months ago, but still hammered from a big Vectis purchase, and was off to America & Canada for holiday, so just saved it for later. I recently got some dollars in my Paypal account so asked if still available, it was. Agreed a price, and it was on it's way. I now wish I'd got my arse in gear and bought it while I was in Canada. It would not only have saved on postage, but I got hit with a bloody £20 import charge. As I only dip in and out collecting nowadays, I forget about this sort of thing. The other annoying thing was that Paypal had taken the money from my bank account, not the dollars in my account, even though I'd made sure to select the dollars as my primary funding source. So I would have lost a little extra chunk converting from pounds to Canadian dollars. I sent emails to Paypal asking what happened, but the replies looked automated, so I'm going to call them. If they can't refund me the small amount I'd lost in the conversion, I at least want to know for future purchases how to make sure a specific funding source is correctly selected.
