Awesome pick up Grant 8)

Nice Miscard Grant, or is it a miscard? General Veers correct cardback/ Figure IMO. Fantastic.

Love the Fett cardback Rob, i had my eye on this.

Here is my latest. Top left of the bubble is dinged and there's a crease on the top right of the card. Other than this it is bob on. Just Fett and Powerdroid to go in my ESB run now.

One more peice due this week I'm very excited about, other than that not planning on getting anything else until FFVII.......maybe :) (looking at you Iain)

First time I've posted in this section,

So this is my latest acquisition from eBay (won with a best offer)

Thought I would post it as I see it has already been disused on other parts of the forum.

I firstly bought this due to my Chewbacca focus but did do a bit of research on it before I made an offer.

I emailed Kim Simmons and asked if he could shed any light on the Negative to which he replied.

Being a negative it is hard to tell if those are comps of the final card. I knew the guys who did them and they were very good. But there would not be a reason to create multiple comps for a show therefore they would have us photograph the cards like you see in the negative with a ruler so the printer could make them the correct size. then it would be just a matter of how many they needed. Then the blister with a figure would be added after it was mounted to cardboard.
A comp was a piece of artwork that the designers created of a package or in this case the blister cards. They did this many many times. I do not see a blister on the cards so that suggests to me that was the purpose. If they had a blister and a figure then it would be possible that it was for a catalog of some kind or promo, but that would likely would have been a transparency.

I also asked about the bottom left square corner to which he said.

Most likely because that is how the cardboard they used was cut. Seeing how at this time it was easier to just leave it square then cut it afterward if need be. Keep in mind, all the work done on a comp was done by hand, back at that time there really were no computers to help make things easier. In fact I can tell you the design firm had no computers at that point at all.

Hope you guys find this as interesting as I did.

James.

Awesome stuff people. Bram love the Signs. Lastly that negative for the 12 backs is cool. IV got the 12 back Han Solo/ Sand People neg somewhere. It appears to be the same as yours. I always believed it was for printing off the cards. Could be wrong. G

Using my best Jedi Mind tricks..."you need to sell me that!" :D

More awesome buys lately everyone. Bram, the bell display's are mint!!

Had a bit of a spend up with the last of my birthday money in the last few weeks.

Finally, after talking with Rich and Stuart I have added a lovely piece of Sigma to the Yoda focus. That, the metal safe and Yoda medal came from Todd Chamberlain.

I know the other bits are modern but took a pick of them all together. Am over the moon to have the Ralph Mcquarrie concept Yoda and Ben in the focus. Have been after one for years but always missed out.
