I've been meaning to crank out some more collector interviews for quite some time so I was really happy to finally publish this one with Daren aka emperorburns! Daren isn't a regular on SWF but is on RS and he's a well known UK guy with one hell of a collection!

Hope you enjoy the read, forgive any mistakes in the text - I still need to have a final read through myself!

Will read properly later Joe but that pic of the PD on an Ugnaught card is awesome. Shame it wasn't legit, but it still looks amazing.

That was a cracking interview, Joe. It really made me long for the 90s collecting ways again: shops, shows and adverts in magazines. Seeing something listed and ringing up hoping you were early enough to get it. Never thought that the internet could actually detract from collecting, but in actual facts (forums and research aside), I guess it has.

Now this I have to read!!

Having several deals under my belt with Daren and having exchanged numerous emails and pm's over the past 12 months I'd happily class him as one of the most friendliest and knowledgeable collectors out there.

Joe, man you just don't stop! Awesome. Will read later when i've caught up with the forum!
I have been away too long!

Good interview, enjoyed it :)
Interesting he mentions a guy in Bolton, wonder if it was a guy called Yusef?! He bought my Tri-logo MOC Fett a few years ago and he told me he had loads of Tri-logos back in the day.

Good interview.

I sold a Jawa for £250.....what was I thinking  that was a good price though back then as most were below £30

I've had a few Jawas through my hands over the years, used to take lots of Trilogos over to a shop in Florida called Intergalactic and trade them for single logo Kenners as single logo sold better for me back here.

Think the shop in Bolton or maybe Manchester was called Moonwalk collectables, they had lots of Trilogos in the mid 90s including 100s of R5s and Tie Pilots and maybe 10-20 Fetts

The good ole days

Darren

Cheers for comment guys, really glad you enjoyed the read! It's always nice to get good feedback on these, I really need to work on some others I've been meaning to finish up!

His name wasn't Yusef but you were close! I believe his name was Esoof! Surprisingly he's still around but no more Trilogos left :(

I did wonder if Daren got the right dealer when I was putting the interview together (he couldn't quite remember!) So did Intergalactic get most of their stock from you Darren? They are often remembered for their "case fresh" Trilogos and the ones they used to have on the site rarely had Kay-Bee stickers on so I always wondered where they came from!

Good memory too by the way as Esoof (mentioned above) was the moonwalk collectables guy! He sure did have a lot of Fetts

I think I got the right guy just spelt his name wrong! He did tell me he had loads of Tri Fetts way back. However he did proper low ball me on his first offer for my Fett-assumed I knew nothing and tried to mug me off :!:
He did come good in the end and paid up but only bought it to flip after making out it was for his own collection and slapped it on eBay for a starting bid of £700 more than he paid me for it which was ludicrous at the time  Needless to say it didn't sell and I believe it ended up getting AFA graded and saw it on Brian's Toys website for around $2600 months later :!:

Glad so many people enjoyed reading the interview.i was really honoured joe even considered to ask me to be interviewed.it was cool thinking back to those days.tend to forget how it used to be before the net.these days its so much easier to just log in and buy stuff these days.i remember a hand written note in my local chippy asking to buy your old sw toys.turned out the guy lived in chorley like me.couldnt believe there were 2 people who collected sw in my little town.
Darren i dont think i ever said thank you for throwing the zuckuss in with the jawa and erg.i might have said cool at the time.so thank you.it was jim stevenson who gave me the nod.that guy i owe so much to.
No idea who the guys name was in bolton.he was asian and i went to his house and he had a box of multiples of the same tri logos.i saw his ad in the loot.i only remember it so clearly because i told the wife im just nipping to the shop and drove like a bamdit there and back :)
Good times
