Forum member: SKYLINE......avoid

To put it in to context, there is a guy over on RS who took thousands (possibly tens of thousands) of dollars from people for a book he was planning on publishing 5 years ago. He has still not published the book, or even had the balls to apologise in person to any of the people that he's "borrowed" money from. Apparently that doesn't make him a scammer - lazy, stupid, slow, and lots of other things, but not dishonest.

The same applies in this situation IMO - Skyline does own these items, he does want to sell them, he has sent out some of them, etc. So although I admit he's not doing a great job, he doesn't really deserve to be hounded.

Edd,I beg to differ, once he has taken money for the item its not his anymore, thats the way I look at it.Its his responsibility to post the items as soon as possible,I get items all the time from England and quite often they arrive the next day.Jeff lives in Dublin which is just 100 miles down the road from me,in a previous job of mine mail to Ireland was sent down on the train and the journey takes no longer than 2 hours. So a month for a parcel to travel from Uk to Ireland is simply bullshit.

This guy has been doing this from the late 90's from what I can see and back then he was blaming the mail system too,one of my pet hates is people blaming the mail system, this might work on a few items a year eBay buyer but its ridiculous he is trying these pathetic excuses here, does he think we all came down in the last shower?

The bit that gets me about this self confessed con artist is that he has supposedly turned over a new leaf, has been given a 2nd chance and yet he is still pulling the same ****!
You would think that considering his past he would make a stellar effort to post his items the next day like everybody else(damn I feel guilty if it takes me 2 days to get to the post office) but no,he still faffs about and falls back on his mail excuses and then starts acting like a victim when people ask about their items that they have handed over their hard earned cash for.

I don't think anybody on here has to apologise to him,he brought this on himself plain and simple.

P.S. Postman has just arrived with the parcel Scott sent out late on Friday afternoon!

Yes but in your own words mate, that's the way YOU look at it. You might want the item in your hand the day after paying, but not everybody is the same as you. You will find similar stories on every other forum, some people take ages to post stuff out, and that's just life I'm afraid. As said I agree he seems to be a bit useless, he probably agrees himself, but as of 9th February (a whopping 48 hours ago) he has apparently sent everything out. Some people's items have arrived, so lets give him the benefit of the doubt before continuing the witch hunt.

And yes believe it or not, if you send a complete stranger (apparently a 'self-confessed con artist') money via PayPal gift, some of the responsibility lies with you I'm afraid. Be more careful next time.

Hi Edd, myself and Mumbo have both apologised in this thread...

The basis of the situation came about from Skylines reputation for being slow to post out rather than an attack on his honesty or reputation. I was considering sending him a PM but it would seem a bit 'forced' now.

Hopefully no harm done, well no more than a thread titled 'Forum member: SKYLINE......avoid'.

Just seen all this too - a real classic

Happy Birthday Mumbo

In terms of stealing money, this guy has done nothing wrong...

But he has lied about posting items out before he really has and double sold items which makes the bloke a bit of a tit,not the devil I agree, but a tit nonetheless

Everyone deserves a chance but he didn't learn from his first mistakes on here??

People deserve to be hounded if they don't send items out quickly enough surely Edd??

Edd's gone all RS on us

IMO lying about delivery dates deserves a watch out post, slow postage is another matter

right time for my say...

Rich : I sent you the figures, I took your word you didn't get them, so I paypaled you a tenner, its not my fault you have 50 different e-mail address but only 1 registered with paypal, as I explained I would paypal the money as soon as I went to a Internet cafe but there isn't one where I live, but now it is all done the money has been sent to the e-mail address you text me.

Corey Stinson : I'm actually glad this got your attention, yeah your right back in the late 90's I did con a few people, and I totally understood your decision I conned a few people you conned me fair enough, BUT I made Amen's for everything I did, and payed everyone back! once again BUT you never ever made Amen's for what you did to me I won a shimek off of eBay what was around $200 and you never sent it, then there was the 2 lots of the 4 2002 Internet exclusive 2 packs I brought from smalljoes I never got! so who really is the bigger man!

Baron / jamarmiller : as for ladyjaye on actionforce.org, the guy is a major waste of time and maybe my decision to mess him around like he messed me around wasn't the best but it was my choice and I stick with it neither of us lost out on anything apart from time, but I will post the details on actionforce.org.

man I wish my only troubles was some one posted me a tenner to the wrong paypal account or dam my toy didn't turn up this week, early this year I was conned for close to 4000 $ on two cobra mortal deals and just this Monday I have had to tell my 7 year old daughter that the cat she has brought up since she was 4 and the kitten was 6 weeks old got hit by a car and died or my 1 year old son has to go in for a hernia operation soon, oh and lets not forget my sister is on suicide watch, all this while holding on to a full time job to pay my mortgage and put food on the table for not only my family but my sisters 3 year old to, now you guys living in your perfect little lives may think this is all excuses, but I have much more things to worry about then what you guys think.

Thanks for a second chance!

I underlined where he confessed to conning people and he has lied on here which is why I don't think anybody has to apologise, like I said he brought it on himself.
I've said what I wanted to say and i'll leave it at that.

 edd..... I was actually trying to refrain from commenting on here till today in the hope that the items might show up...they haven't.
I'm a bit confused how you reckon 'Skyline' still owns these items....I paid money a month ago for items I still haven't received, I understand it's my own fault for paying by gift but my point is....I did pay him.....

Also, He doesn't need to be hounded??.....its a month.....even If these items were sent on the 1st as is being claimed now, that's 10 days ago! I would be asking about them this week anyway...

At the end of the day, Im not going to let this affect my deals on here...I love using this site and everyone on here is great giving advice etc. it's the whole principle of how Daniel has acted that pisses me off....this is a collecting community forum and the trust factor should be paramount, that's just me.....if someone lies about selling items, lies about dispatching them and still continues on like a victim when challenged, then the whole point of a community looking out for one and other counts for less

I for one am going to hound him till this is sorted and Daniel fixes up with me

Where exactly did I say that? All I said was that he seems to be slow at posting stuff out.

He posted them on Saturday (9th February) and today it is Monday (11th February.) And you're surprised/pissed off that they haven't arrived yet!? Last time I checked Royal Mail don't deliver on Sundays.

Edd the guy paid for his items over a month ago, stop nit picking on little details/quotes and see the bigger picture mate...

Jeff paid for his items over a Month ago and hasn't received them still, that is surely NOT acceptable on your forum?

Ok edd.....I'm not sure if your messing with me..... :? Im well aware most postal services dont deliver sundays....

As I've pointed out it's a month since these were paid for, after much alledged moaning on my behalf.... I was informed that these items were posted on the 1st February.....this was the reason I was given as to why I couldn't get a refund, they were already gone...!!
Now your saying that they were only sent on Sat 9th Feb......Why the F&@k did he even post them then....he was well aware I didnt even want the figures at that stage
I'm not going to post on here again tbh.....l :x

Talk about banging your head against a brick wall, I'm just trying to calm the situation down and remind a few of you to be patient occasionally. I'm not taking sides, I'm just pointing out that there are risks involved in sending random blokes on the internet money. May I suggest you only buy from eBay in future if you think it's unacceptable to wait more than 48 hours for delivery of your toys.
