First MOC Figure - Now and Then

I bought my first last year, general madine for £9.00 quid of ebay, beater card but still cool to me, i've picked up a couple more but that was my first

ROTJ Chief Chirpa from a Carboot in around 2003/2004 ish for £15

ROTJ 65 back Lando Skiff Guard for $20 about 2005 from ebay also picket up a Weequay from the same seller for an extra $10, still have the Lando.

It was the only figure I remember buying myself with pocket money when I was a kid, can still visualise opening it in my Dad's car while he was seeing a customer. Super excited about him having a removable helmet only to be let down by his poxy stick of a weapon. :lol: Good memories both times, I will never forget my wife's expression when it arrived.

when i started collecting in the 1990s my first buys were a emp royal guard i think for 15 and a sealed potf playpack from i believe the old toysrus store in belfast, they had loads of these packs at that time

What a great question - I honestly can't remember but think it was an Admiral Ackbar with a broken bubble that I got in a job lot. I remember my first 'serious' purchase was a bulk lot of Ewoks that I bought from Hayd (Andreas) on eBay. That was the catalyst that got me collecting them - I was just so amazed that they had survived all those years.

Since then I reckon I have bought and sold over 2000 MOCs

The very first was either Greedo or Vader in 1981

When the interest was sparked again it was a kenner leia poncho for £3.50 in about 1991. I hate to admit this but I opened it Still have the card and the figure.

my very first carded figure i bought was han hoth about 1985 while on holiday in the lake district for £1.29.

collecting later in 1998 i bought bib fortuna and squid head for £12 each from my local comic shop.

first moc from ebay was in 2003/4 a leia boushh for £16.50, not a huge amount of sellers on the bay then but i do remember two sellers who had loads of vintage star wars auctions going on at the time, one was sarah vinnels and the other was jedidiesel who i bought thye boussh from, sad that i remember all this :lol:

First MOC then - I don't remember, but think it was R2 D2 Senserscope in 1981- he was my first ever figure. Being 3 years old, I opened him.

First MOC I kept Carded and still own - tri logo Death Star Droid. Bought him in 1988 from John Menzies for 99p.

Rediscovering collecting in the late 90's - ESB Rebel Soldier, decent quality £30. Was offered an ESB Yoda at the same time, £50. Still have the RS., wish I'd bought the Yoda.

Rediscovering collecting again, and SWFUK, 12a Stormie from Iain, £200 I think. Traded a while ago for something Palitoy.

No idea what the first was - possibly Luke or Vader.
I've never bought one since the 80s but I was given a Klaatu as a SS last year.

First MOC was ROTJ Gammy guard....seems a long time ago now!

1st two figures i bought was Luke Jedi. Lost the first Luke but grandad bought me a replacement. Clearly remember playing with the newly opened first Luke on a freshly mowed lawn and strangely to this day whenever i get a sniff of newly mowed grass it takes me back to that summers day in either 83 or 84. Still have the second Luke and many of the figures from childhood. Bought a C9 MOC kenner ROTJ Luke Jedi from Brian's toys in 2003 for around £60 and takes pride of place in my collection. First MOC as a vintage i bought was a Rotj General Madine from ebay in 2001 for £13 quickly followed by a beater Palitoy ESB 41b rebel soldier which i bought for £30 from a small vintage toy store in Leicester. That MOC is my avatar.

First ever MOC was a Kenner ROTJ Yoda. I paid £27 for it from a well known old school ad in model & collectors mart in the early 90's - can't remember the name but would know it if I saw it. You bought blind in those days unless you lived near the shop. Old school over the phone mail order. Them were the days!
It was unpunched but had a massive curved crease from around the figure area to the top right corner.
If I saw it again I would know it used to be mine lol how sad is that?

I later upgraded it and bought one from toy toni (ahem) When AFA first came out I was bang into it. I got it graded, it faired up an 85 across the board.
Still have him now. As the saying goes he's he's not for sale...

First MOC was Hammerhead as child and later ( as collector) it was a Power Droid.

First carded figure i bought as adult was a 12 Back Jawa.
