What odds would you have got on Liverpool Chelsea (two "defensive" sides) being twice the semi final that Man U Barca (two "attacking/free flowing" sides) was?

Fancy United's chances Jay?

Was lookingforward to a united v Liverpool final :shock:

You guys were robbed tonight :(

Not overly confident facing Chelsea :? Probably be a **** game with drogba scoring the winner in stoppage time :roll:

Ahh our other resident United fan turns up just AFTER United make the CL final and Liverpool lose in the semi! :lol: (good to see you on though mate!)

ANYTHING will be better than the FA Cup final those two teams produced last year. But I think your right, United would have fancied their chances more against Liverpool. Saying that I have an awful feeling this is going to be 'United's year' in the CL :?

The ref bottled the foul on Hyypia but when sides are as equal as Liverpool and Chelsea have been in the Champions League over the last 4 seasons you need that little bit of luck.

Torres had a hamstring injury and to be fair Babbel came on and did his job but losing Skrtel was a big blow not just because of his strength against Drogba but having to make a defensive substitution also meant it was unlikely that Babbel and Crouch would be able to come on later.

Messi is a good player but never got past Arbeloa when we played then a year or so ago so I would rather see David Bentley and Ashley Young at Anfield next season. 8)

I haven't seen the game, but the guys on the radio seemed pretty confident that the ref made the right call for the penalty.
:?

To be fair liverpool had a penalty not given and chelsea had a perfect goal by essien disallowed for nothing so even stevens imo

and Liverpool can't complain considering the three dodgy penalty decisisons they've recently had against Arsenal :evil: :wink:

I knew that was coming :lol:

The blokes on the radio seemed to think the ref made the right decision about Essien's goal (albeit they needed a replay). As there were 4 or 5 Chelsea players stood in front of Reina, in off side positions, when Essien shot. Ok you can argue they weren't interfering with play,but if being stood blocking a keepers view isn't interfering with play...........how long before we see Bolton build a wall with their players on top of the opposition keeper everytime they get a free kick near the other teams goal?

Hope Chelsea bloody win it now though!

I don't like either club, team, manager, owner etc.

But, Chelsea are a lesser of two HUGE evils. Probably because I don't know as many Chelsea fans as I do United fans, so there will be less gloating to listen to.
Also, all the Chelsea fans I know are football fans first and foremost. Whereas too many United fans I know are fair weather fans at best, (happy to gloat when United win, but suddenly 'lose interest' in football, when United get beaten) or glory hunters at worst.

I kind of agree with you there :oops:

Been just me in pub cheering united on so far this champions league and I bet when the final is on they'll be loads!!

But all that being said, i did not know a chelsea fan before they got loads of money and came good. So I would say Chelsea fans are mutch worse :twisted: :twisted:

I knew a few chelsea fans before the money arrived, and to be fair I haven't seen many more appear since, may just be I haven't met them though.

Predicitions for Wednesday night?

Apart from the fact that the Russian police/football hooligans will kill a few Englishmen (no great loss in the case of United fans, them bastards come out of the woodwork at a rate of knots everytime United win something)

What I think will happen;
United to win 2-1 unfortunately! I'm hoping I jink them.

What I want to happen;
17 red cards, a mass brawl, Ronaldo/Ashley Cole getting both their legs broken in one tackle, United and Chelsea fans involved in running street battles with the Russian Police and both clubs getting banned from European football next season, ohh and Fergie having a corony. But I'll settle for Chelsea winning!
